  • Thirimanne played a sensible knock but didn't have much support. Usman Khan had a good debut while the spinners were really effective, especially Wasim and Shadab who took two wickets apiece. The star, Hasan Ali continues to rise, being the standout bowler once again, picking up a 3-fer. The target seems to be a cakewalk for the hosts but stranger things have happened in cricket. Join us shortly for the chase.
  • What a brilliant bowling performance from Pakistan! They were disciplined throughout and kept on picking wickets at consistent intervals to deny any sort of momentum to the Lankans. The wicket didn't have any demons on it but it was the casual approach of the batsmen which led to their downfall. No one really applied themselves apart from the pair of Thirimanne and Dananjaya. Their 8th wicket stand helped the visitors crawl past the 150-run mark.
  • 43.4 OUT! TIMBER! Another 3-fer for Hasan! What a season he is having, always amongst the wickets. He bowls a lovely off cutter on off. Gamage is very early into his shot as he gets beaten and the ball hits the top of off. That ends the Sri Lankan innings, BOWLED OUT FOR 173!
  • 43.3 Comes down the track and tries to go over covers but does not get the right connection. He mistimes it to covers.
  • 43.2 Length outside off, Lakmal hits it on the bounce to sweeper cover for a run.
  • 43.1 FOUR! Handy runs here! Hasan bangs it in short on middle. Lakmal goes for the pull and connects well through backward square leg for a boundary. The fielder there puts in a dive but to no avail.

  • 40.2 Works it with the angle towards square leg for a run.
  • Lahiru Gamage is the last man in.
  • 40.1 OUT! Once again the bowling change does the trick! This time it is the set batsman Lahiru Thirimanne who departs. A very good knock by him comes to an end. Imad bowls it slower outside off, gets it to bounce a touch more. Thirimanne goes for the drive but the ball hits the higher part of the bat and flies to Azam at covers who takes it.

  • 39.3 Yes, no, yes, no... safe in the end! Lakmal cuts the short ball towards point. Thirimanne sets off for a run but Lakmal was ball-watching. He then sees Lahiru running and then sets off. Imam at point, who similar to Lakmal, was in his own space but then realized the ball was coming towards him. He then dived to his left, collected the ball and fired a throw at the non-striker's end but missed. No harm done.

Lakmal tries to flick it but gets beaten by the away turn. The ball goes agonizingly over the off stump. Shadab can't believe it. He lands it on a length outside off, Dananjaya pokes at it and gets an outside edge to Sarfraz who takes it. He played that away from his body, a needless shot, he could have left it. The frustrating 43-run stand for Pakistan has been broken.

Samarawickrama goes deep in the crease and gets himself into a tangle. Looks to knock it down the ground but is late on it and the stumps get castled. • Hello and a warm welcome for the 4th ODI between Pakistan and Sri Lanka in Sharjah. The story has been contrasting for both sides so far. The hosts continue to rise up in the limited-overs format while the downward spiral for the visitors is still going on. If the tourists are to lift themselves out of this mess, they need to punch above their weights. The talented youngster, Sadeera Samarawickrama, has been added to the squad and is in line to make his ODI debut.
  • Right then, that's all we have from this match. Pakistan register their eighth win on the trot while Sri Lanka experience their 11th consecutive loss. It all appears like one-way traffic at the moment. Will we see anything different in the last ODI on 23rd October? Do join us at 1000 GMT (1400 local) to find out. Until then, it's goodbye from all of us here. Cheers!

  • Yet another cakewalk for Pakistan and they go 4-0 up in the series. Their bowlers set the tone early on by bundling out the Lankans cheaply and then after some initial stutter, the pair of Babar Azam and Shoaib Malik drove them home. They were abysmal with the bat which didn't provide their bowlers enough runs to play with and as a result, in spite of some excellent bowling initially, they suffered a hefty defeat. This is Sri Lanka's 20th loss in 2017, their joint-most in any calendar year alongside their performance in 1999.
