  • Hasan Ali was the standout bowler as he picked a fifer. Shadab Khan and the rest provided great support to him. The leg spinner also finished with two important wickets of Dinesh Chandimal and Upul Tharanga. The wicket is on the slower side but the home side will fancy themselves to chase this down. Sri Lanka will have to bowl really well if they are to win this game and level the series. Join us in a while for the chase.
  • Brilliant bowling effort by the hosts! This is the seventh time in a row Pakistan have managed to keep the opposition under 250! After winning the toss and electing to bat first, the tourists got off to a decent start but after the loss of Dickwella's wicket they could not surge a partnership. They kept losing wickets and also their batsmen found it difficult to rotate strike, especially Chandimal who played at a strike rate of 38.78. Upul Tharanga played a good knock and a cameo towards the end by Perera has helped them take the score above 200.
  • 48.2 OUT! Perera has been run out in an attempt to retain strike. A very full delivery on middle, Perera drives it towards long on. He completes one and then goes for the second. Raees himself runs behind the ball, gets to it quickly and fires a throw to Sarfraz who collects the ball and whips the bails off in a flash. They appeal and the umpire refers it upstairs. Replays show that Perera is short of his crease. A good cameo by him comes to an end. SRI LANKA HAVE BEEN BOWLED OUT FOR 208!
  • A referral for a run out at the striker's end against Perera has been taken upstairs.
  • 48.1 Slower ball outside off, Perera tries to go big but gets a top edge which goes towards covers. Imam-ul-Haq runs after it and puts in a desperate dive, gets a hand to it but cannot hold onto the chance. The batsmen take two.
  • 47.6 Very full outside off, Gamage does well to keep it out. Hasan Ali finishes with career-best ODI figures, 10-0-34-5! 205/9
  • Lahiru Gamage is the last man in.
  • 47.5 OUT! Fifer for Hasan Ali ! Take a bow young man! A brilliant bowling display by him. He takes it on the second last delivery of his spell. His third fifer. He comes steaming in and goes wide of the crease. Bangs it short outside off, gets it to jag back in. Chameera goes for the cut but it was too close for that shot. The ball takes the edge and goes to Sarfraz who makes no mistake.
  • 47.4 Bouncer on middle, Chameera ducks under it.
  • 47.3 Angles it into the batsman. Perera hits it down to long on for a run.
  • 47.2 Fullish in length outside off, Perera swings at it but connects with thin air. That was close to the off pole.
  • 47.1 Sensible stuff from Chameera. He taps the ball on off towards point for a quick single to get Perera on strike.
  • 46.6 FOUR! Sloppy Zaman! Length ball around middle, Perera slogs it through mid-wicket and looks for a couple. Zaman in the deep though fumbles and allows the ball to go through for a boundary. Sarfraz is not happy, one bit. 203/8

  • 44.1 NOT OUT! Perera has made it in time! Hafeez fires it on off, Chameera defends it towards covers and calls for a run. Perera obliges and sets off. The fielder is quick to the ball and fires a throw to the keeper who takes the bails off and appeals. They go upstairs and the replays show he is in. A run added to the total.
  • An appeal for run out at the striker's end against Perera has been taken upstairs.
  • 43.6 FOUR! TOP SHOT! Full outside off, right in the slot for Perera. He lofts it over mid off for a boundary. 172/8

  • 43.4 Defended off the front foot by the batsman presenting the full face of the bat.
  • 43.3 FOUR! Edge and a boundary! The question here is why isn't there a second slip? Hasan Ali lands it on a length around off, Chameera pokes at it and gets an outside edge between the keeper and the slip fielder for a boundary.
  • 43.2 Length ball on off, it jags back in. Chameera looks to defend but is beaten and the ball strikes him on the pads. The players appeal but the umpire shakes his head.
  • Dushmantha Chameera walks out to the middle. A milestone for Hasan Ali, he is now the fastest bowler from Pakistan to take 50 ODI wickets beating Waqar Younis.
  • 43.1 OUT! Hasan Ali has a four-fer! He is also the fastest Pakistan bowler to reach 50 ODI wickets beating Waqar Younis! Joint-fourth highest overall to the milestone. Hafeez bowls an arm ball on off, Thirimanne goes for the drive and gets an inside edge which goes to Sarfraz who takes it. The Pakistan players appeal, Babar Azam is very interested and he wanted the umpires to take it upstairs and the umpires do so. Replays show it is not a bump ball and it has gone off the boot to the keeper and out is what flashes on the big screen. Thirimanne cannot believe his luck.

  • 42.3 Fires it on the pads. Thisara flicks it through square leg for a run. Perera wants a second but is sent back by his partner. The fielder misses the stumps at the non-striker's end and Perera makes his ground. A direct hit would have been close.

He gets a leading edge which lobs back to the bowler who takes it easily. Ali gets his second and Sri Lanka are losing their way. Replays show that Kapugedera hit the ball twice. Chandimal is not sure of the inside edge and hence has a word with his partner before taking the review. No edge confirmed by the Ultra Edge. Ball Tracker shows three reds and hence Chandimal has to go back. He has been dismissed by Shadab Khan's googly twice in as many games. Khan is pretty sure and Sarfraz does not need anything more. He goes for the review. That was precisely how Khan had asked for a review in the Champions Trophy Final in 2017 against Yuvraj Singh. This looks pretty plumb too. Ultra Edge shows that there is a slight spike as the ball went past the bat. That was pretty close. Pakistan lose a review. 99/1

  • TOSS - Sri Lanka win the toss and for a change they are going to bat first. There are two changes for them Dushmantha Chameera and Chamara Kapugedera come in for Kusal Mendis and Suranga Lakmal. For Pakistan, they have a youngster making his debut and as mentioned in the text above it is Imam-ul-Haq in place of Ahmed Shehzad. Fahim Ashraf comes in for the injured Imad Wasim.
  • Hello and welcome to the 3rd ODI between Pakistan and Sri Lanka in Abu Dhabi. Nothing seems to be going the visitors' way and Tharanga would hope things change today. It is a must-win situation for them if they are to stay alive in the series. It would be interesting to see if there are some changes made in the batting line-up as it has failed to deliver the goods. The home side on the other hand, have only one issue and that is the form of Ahmed Shehzad who might find himself on the bench. Imam-ul-Haq, the youngster, shall replace him. Their morale would be high heading into the game and Sarfraz would hope for another win today. Will we see Sri Lanka turning the tide or will the plot remain the same? Toss and teams coming up in a while.
  • Right then! The Test series belongs to Sri Lanka while Sarfraz's men have come back hard to seal the ODI series. We still have two matches to go and with nothing to lose, expect both the sides to test their bench strength. Pakistan would look to dominate further and hand a whitewash while Sri Lanka would be playing for pride. The fourth ODI will be played in Sharjah at 1400 local (1000 GMT). Do join us for all the action. Before we leave, we wish all our users a very Happy Diwali and a Happy New Year! Stay safe, folks! Enjoy and cheers!
  • IMAM-UL-HAQ is awarded THE MAN OF THE MATCH for his immaculate innings. He scored a century and holds the record for the second highest score by a Pakistan batsman on debut!
  • Well, for the visitors, nothing is going right. Their dry run in colored clothing is only swirling down the spiral and it would require something extraordinary on their part to turn the tide. Their batsmen once again didn't show any fight apart from their skipper while their bowlers were really toothless and hence are on the other side of the result. They are now holding an unwanted record - this is their 10th successive loss in the format and are on course of suffering another whitewash...
  • Imam-ul-Haq and Fakhar Zaman got their team off to a perfect start. The latter departed but the former made the most of the opportunity that was on offer. He got a life twice on 29 and then on 89 both by Dickwella but otherwise he was fluent enough throughout. He registered a record - only the second Pakistan batsman to score a ton on debut. He stayed there, stitched valuable stands with Azam and Hafeez before getting out at the door step to victory. More than anything, the opening woes that the hosts had, seemed to have settled and should give them a huge relief as this was one department where they have been stuttering.
  • What a performance from Pakistan! This is their SEVENTH CONSECUTIVE win in the ODIs. Never for a moment it seemed like they were under the pump in this game. Apart from the toss, everything else went their way. They restricted Sri Lanka to 208, courtesy a mind boggling spell from Hasan Ali who led the charge by picking up a 5-fer, which happens to be his career-best figures too! The wicket was on the slower side and it required a good batting effort to gun down the tricky target and guess what? Pakistan achieved it without breaking a sweat.
  • 42.3 That's it! PAKISTAN SEAL THE SERIES 3-0! Vandersay loops it up outside off, Hafeez leans ahead and drives it through covers for a single. Smiles all around in the Pakistan dressing room, they needed this after a tough series loss in the Tests! Well played!

  • Shoaib Malik walks in next!
  • 41.6 OUT! The centurion departs! He fails to take his team over the line! But what an innings, gets a warm applause from the crowd as he trudges back! Perera bowls a short ball down the leg side, slower in pace. Imam tries to help it on its way with a pull shot but the lack of pace on the ball brings his downfall. He gloves one to the keeper who takes the catch easily. No celebration from them As Pakistan require half a dozen more to win. 203/3
  • 41.5 Good length delivery on middle and leg, flicked through mid-wicket for a single.
  • 41.4 HUNDRED ON DEBUT FOR IMAM-UL-HAQ! Well played, young man! He is absolutely delighted, leaps in the air, punches it and then lets out a roar. Takes his helmet off, goes down on his knees and does a sajdah! Becomes only the second Pakistan player to get a hundred on debut and third youngest overall. Agreed, he had his fare share of luck but then you need to make it count. Coming to the ball, short delivery on the body, pulled through square leg for a single.

  • 38.1 Outside off, Hafeez ignores.
  • 37.6 FOUR! That's off the meat of the bat! What a hit! No nervous nineties for this man! He wants to make the most of the live he has got! Slower ball on the shorter length on middle, Imam walks down the track and pulls it with utmost disdain over mid-wicket for a boundary. 189/2

  • 36.2 Bangs in a short ball on middle, Imam ducks under it.
  • 36.1 NOT OUT flashes on the giant screen and that gets the crowd going! Dickwella has dropped that! He will be a relieved man. He was walking back with his head down and now has been called back to carry on. Chameera was troubling the southpaw for a while and nearly got the better of him. He lands it on a length outside off, Imam tries to cut it but the ball jags back in a touch late and that surprised the debutant. He gets a faint inside edge and Dickwella behind the stumps takes it by getting low to his right. Sri Lanka appeal and the umpire raises his finger. He then wants to be sure and hence asks him to wait. The front foot is fine but the very first angle shows that Dickwella has grassed it. It is seen from various angles and in the end a right decision is being made by the TV umpire - he calls Imam back. Now, can he score a ton?
  • Heartbreak! Imam-ul-Haq has nicked one behind and the umpire has raised his finger. But hang on... the umpires ask him to wait as they want to see if Dickwella has collected it cleanly. Looks close! Heart in mouth moment for the debutant...

  • Imam-ul-Haq is on the road to create history tonight. The highest score by a Pakistan on debut is 102 and he is well on course to break it. Sri Lanka are down and out and it would require something miraculous on their part to turn things around... AKILA DANANJAYA comes on to bowl.

  • 29.1 OUT! Babar Azam plays it on! Gamage comes from over the wicket and bowls a length delivery a touch wide outside off. Azam tries to go for the expansive drive away from the body but gets an inside edge which goes on the bounce to disturb the stumps. Not an ideal shot to play on a slow surface. So, Babar Azam's dream run in the UAE comes to an end as he departs for a cheap score today. Pakistan need another 65 runs to win.
