  • The wicket is playing well but there is some assistance for the bowlers. The home side will back themselves to chase this down. The tourists will have to bowl really well in order to defend this score. Join us in a while for the chase.
  • The Indian bowlers did not start off well. Even their spinners could not provide the breakthrough in the middle overs and they were leaking runs. However, some smart bowling from Kuldeep and Chahal and some brilliant death bowling by the pace bowlers made sure Australia did not run away with the game. they conceded only 59 in the last ten and managed to pick 4 wickets.
  • So, India have done really well to pull things back here. After winning the toss and opting to bat the Australians got off to an ideal start with Finch and Warner stitching a good partnership. The former scored a magnificent ton on his return and he was well supported by his skipper Smith. However, after the fall of these two, the visitors completely lost their way courtesy some poor batting and excellent death bowling by the hosts.
  • 49.6 Good length around off, Stoinis pulls it through mid-wicket for a couple of runs. AUSTRALIA FINISH ON 293/6!
  • 49.5 Full and outside off, Agar punches it through covers for a single.
  • 49.4 FOUR! Smart batting! Bumrah bowls it around leg, Agar gets across and swings it wide of short fine leg for a boundary.
  • 49.3 Full toss around off, Agar clips it through mid-wicket. Pandey does well to run to his left and stops the ball. Two runs taken.
  • 49.2 Punches it through covers for a single.

  • 48.6 Full and outside off, Agar swings at it but misses. 281/6

  • 48.5 Very full outside off, Stoinis carves it through covers for a single.
  • 48.4 Wide outside off, Agar looks to flay one but gets it off the toe end. Slices it just short of the man coming in from sweeper cover. A single taken.

  • Ashton Agar walks out to bat.
  • 47.5 OUT! Ice cool stuff by Pandey! Fuller in length outside off, Handscomb walks down the wicket and goes through with his lofted shot. Pandey at long off, gets under it and takes the catch. He spots that he is going over the ropes and hence throws it up in the air. Comes back in and completes the catch. The umpire refers it upstairs to be sure. Replays confirm that it was a clean catch and hence Peter has to go back. Bumrah has two wickets. Post October, this catch won't be allowed since you cannot touch the ground beyond the ropes while trying to complete the catch.
  • They are going upstairs to check whether Manish Pandey has taken the catch cleanly at the long off boundary. It did look clean and if he has taken it, it is a stunning one. Peter Handscomb is the man in question.

  • 44.2 NOT OUT! Stoinis survives! Kumar hurls it around off, Marcus gets across and turns it towards the leg side for a single. The bowler is appealing for an lbw but nothing by the umpire. The Indians are confident and go for the review. Replays show that it was indeed pad first but the impact was outside the line and hence he survives.

  • Powerplay 3 has been signaled by the umpire. Five fielders will be allowed outside the 30-yard circle till the end of the innings. Also, Yuzvendra Chahal is back into the attack. He has been expensive today but a wicket or two here will be very handy.
