  • The visitors did not look confident at the beginning by losing two quick wickets in the first over of the match. However the experience of Taylor and Raza tried to build on a partnership on middle but that did not last long. Sikandar Raza once again proved to be vital for them as with his helpful knock of 52 they managed to get past the 150 run mark along with some vital contribution by PJ Moor towards the end of the innings. Let's see what the second innings has on offer for us, will Bangla Tigers chase this down with ease or there is a twist in the tale?
  • At the end of first innings, Zimbabwe are all out for 170 as they perished in the 49th over. The hosts began the game well by handing over the new ball to both their left-arm spinners who bowled a really tight spell in the start. They gave them early wickets and did not let any partnership build. The fast bowlers came into the picture during the middle overs where they did not give away much of the loose delivers to capitalize on. Once again, their death overs specialists, Mustafizur Rahman and Rubel Hossain proved key for them as they both bagged two wickets each.
  • 48.6 OUT! ZIMBABWE HAVE BEEN BOWLED OUT FOR 170! Absolute peach from the Fizz to finish things off and bag his second wicket. Runs in from around the wicket and arrows a yorker on the stumps, too good for Blessing who can't do anything about that. The stumps behind him are rattled and that's the end of the Zimbabwean innings.
  • 48.5 The batsman has been struck on the thigh pad. They pick up a single. The umpire signals leg bye.
  • 48.4 Back of a length delivery around off, Muzarabani gets a leading edge through cover and takes one.
  • 48.3 Deceives the batsman with a slower one again. Blessing like a proper tailender looks to slog across the line but misses.
  • 48.2 Fuller again, Jarvis gets a thick outside edge which flies through the vacant backward point position. Single taken.
  • 48.1 Cutter from Mustafizur, around off, Jarvis swings hard across the line only to be beaten.
  • 47.6 Full again, outside off, hit away to the man positioned in the cover region. 167/9
  • 47.5 Full and wide outside off, Blessing leaves it alone. No hat-trick for Rubel.
  • Blessing Muzarabani is the last man in for Zimbabwe.
  • 47.4 OUT! RUBEL IS ON A HAT-TRICK! Another yorker on off, Chatara looks to hit it out on the off side but can't deal with the ferocity of the delivery. Gets an inside edge back onto his stumps and he goes back to the dressing room as fast as he came out.
  • Tendai Chatara is the new man in.
  • 47.3 OUT! BOWLED 'EM! This is excellent death bowling from Rubel Hossain. Comes steaming in and spears in the perfect yorker on middle. Moor makes room to hit it through the off side but misses and has his stumps shattered. The set batsman is gone.
  • 47.2 Wristy shot as it's turned through mid-wicket for a run.
  • 47.1 Yorker fired in straightaway, good delivery to start the over. Peter Moor just about digs it out down the ground towards long on and takes one.
  • Rubel Hossain returns to the attack.
  • 46.6 This time he nicks it but it falls just short. Slower one again, Jarvis edges it behind but Rahim can't collect it before it falls to the ground. 165/7
  • 46.5 Slower in pace, outside off, Jarvis plays and almost get a nick on it.
  • 46.4 Superb piece of bowling from the Fizz! Brings out the bouncer out of nowhere, takes Jarvis by surprise who can't do much else but barely duck out of the way.
  • 46.3 Full outside off, driven through the covers for a single. Jarvis wanted the second, but is sent back by Moor.
  • 46.2 Cutter outside off, Moor hangs his bat inside the line and gets beaten as a result.
  • 46.2 Wide! Maybe there was some pad on it, if not bat? Because Rahim is confident there's some sound. Down the leg side, Moor looks to flick but misses. Replays show the sound is of the ball brushing the thigh pad.
  • 46.1 Length delivery shaping away from outside off, punched out off the back foot.
  • 45.6 In the air... but safe! Tossed up on the stumps, Jarvis clears his front leg and looks to go big downtown. Instead, he gets a top edge which flies down to long on. Tamim Iqbal goes running behind from mid on but can't get to the ball in time. Two runs taken. 163/7
  • 45.5 Works it against the spin on the leg side. Dot ball.
  • 45.4 Jarvis takes a big lunge forward, gets close to the pitch of the tossed up ball and defends.
  • Kyle Jarvis is next in to bat.
  • 45.3 OUT! That's a good catch out in the deep! After facing a few dot ball, Graeme Cremer decided he wanted to go after this time. Looked to launch the full ball over the long off fence, but instead found Rubel Hossain who dived forward and took a stunning catch.
  • 45.2 Straighter one from Shakib, Cremer once again plays it in Shakib's direction.
  • 45.1 Slower through the air, slightly short in length, Moor hits it through the right of the bowler and takes a single.

  • 44.2 Just ahead of a length outside off, Cremer pushes it down to long off for a single.
  • 44.1 Run out chance goes to waste! Full outside off, Moor crisply drives it through the covers. Cremer instantly takes off for the second without even looking at the ball and is halfway down the track. But, to his fortune, Shakib in the deep throws it at the wrong end. The Zimbabwean skipper is able to get back in the crease and make it in safely.
  • Mustafizur Rahman is back into the attack.
  • 43.6 Moor ends the over by driving it down the ground for a single. He will keep the strike for next over. 155/6
  • 43.5 FOUR! Asking to be put away. Shakib drags it short, Moor was quick to see it. He rocks back and pulls it towards the mid-wicket region for a boundary. Poor bowling by the experienced campaigner.
  • 43.4 Moor leans into the drive and plays it towards the mid off fielder.
  • 43.3 Close! Shakib tossed this one outside off, Moor tries the slog sweep but did not manage to put any bat to it. It did not miss the off stump by much.
  • 43.2 Moor pushes it off the front foot towards the cover region.
  • 43.1 Shakib gives it some air as Cremer lofts it to long on for a single.
  • 42.6 Moor tries to be innovative and plays a reverse sweep but does not manage to get his bat to it. 149/6

  • Shakib Al Hasan is back into the attack.
  • 40.6 FOUR! A cracker of a shot by Moor. Mortaza bowls it full outside off. Moor lofts this one over the cover fielder for a much needed boundary. He wouldn't miss out on deliveries like these. 141/6

He flicks it to short fine leg and calls for the run but his partner did not respond. A diving Raza could not get back in his crease. Shakib picks up and throws it flat towards Rahim who dislodges the stumps within no time. A big wicket at this stage of the match for the Bangla Tigers. A fine knock of 52 comes to an end in a sad manner.

  • 37.4 FOUR! Classical cover drive by Raza. He brings up his fifty in style. His 9th fifty in ODIs and 1st against Bangladesh. Hossain tosses it up outside off, Raza comes dancing down and whacks it towards the cover region for a boundary. He's doing it again for his team. Raza has always stepped up when his team needs him the most. Needs to carry on and play till the end to get his team to a fighting total.

  • 32.6 This keeps a little low. Mustafizur hurls it well outside off on a length, Peter Moor stretches his arms out to connect, but the low bounce sees the ball go off the under edge behind to the keeper on the bounce. 109/5
  • 32.5 Little straightish in line once more, flicked away through mid-wicket for a single.

  • 32.3 Shaping away, on a good length, played to point.
  • 32.2 Goes full, on the stumps this time, it's kept out with a straight blade. His head was quite steady there, well done. Good balance shown.

  • 26.1 FOUR! Shot! Short and wide, Raza's eyes light up as he stands tall and crashes it through point. This is probably his only option now. Wickets are falling from the other end, so it's on him now to get the runs while he can.

  • 25.5 Around off with some turn on it, blocked by Moor.
  • Peter Moor next in to bat. Two slips in place for him.
  • 25.4 OUT! He's gone this time! No third life for Malcolm Waller. Rather sad really for Zimbabwe, they'd have hoped he would have carried on and made the most of the lives given to him. Flatter and quicker on off, turns a bit as Waller looks to cut. Not enough room to do so and he draws an edge as a result. Into Sabbir Rahman's hands who keeps a hold of it. Zimbabwe fall deeper.
  • 25.3 Comes forward and defends the full delivery with utmost ease.
  • 25.2 Dropped! Bit difficult, but you can argue it should have been taken. Quite full on middle and off, Waller hits it straight back to the bowler. Islam can't hold on, puts it down. Initially it looked like it was a bump ball, but on watching the replays it became clear that it was a straight catch.
  • 25.1 Fuller, slower and drifting in on middle, Raza wrists it through mid-wicket for a single.
  • 24.6 Hangs behind the line of this one as he guards it out safely. 80/4
  • 24.5 FOUR! Shot! Was expecting that, really. The full one was coming after several short ones. Waller leans ahead and cracks it through the covers for a boundary.
  • 24.5 Five Wides! One too many from Rubel. Bangs it short but it's too short, Waller has nothing to do with it. The keeper rises and he misses the ball. Over his head and away to the boundary line. Wide called by the umpire as well, so five runs in total.
  • 24.4 Bumper again, Waller arches back and lets it be.
  • 24.3 Nicely done by Raza. He flicks this in front of square on the leg side and runs the first one hard. Wants the second but is sent back by his partner. Rightly so too, as the fielder got to the ball rather fast.
  • 24.2 Length ball outside the line of off stump, played to point. One run taken.
  • 24.1 Bouncer to start the over. Waller picks it up early and comfortably ducks to avoid it.

  • 23.5 Flatter and quicker this time, easy enough for Waller to get back and punch it past extra cover for a run.
  • 23.4 This is excellent, excellent bowling from Islam. Gives this some serious air as he tosses it just back of a driving length on off. Malcolm Waller is drawn forward and he plays at it, only to be beaten past the outside edge.
  • 23.3 Waits for the ball to come to him, offers the full face of the bat to keep it out.
  • 23.2 Leans ahead and knocks this full ball through the covers for a single.

  • 22.6 Short and wide, Waller cuts and cuts hard. Though, much to his dismay, it's straight to the point fielder. Either side of him and that was a boundary. 65/4

  • 22.2 Fraction straight in line, coming back into the batsman. Raza works it behind square leg and takes one.
  • 22.1 Some width on offer outside off, landed on a good length, Raza throws his bat at this but fails to make any kind of connection.
  • 21.6 Plays with the spin as he hits it through point. One run to end the over. 62/4
  • 21.5 Excellent use of the feet from Sikandar Raza. Dances down and drives it crisply through the cover region. Two runs taken as the two fielders in the deep mop it up.
  • 21.4 The batsman has defended it by getting right behind the line of the delivery.
  • 21.3 Slower through the air, fuller in length, Raza takes a big stride forward and meets the ball at its pitch.
  • 21.2 Nice drift in once again, Raza keeps it out safely.

  • 20.6 Typical fast bowler's response from Rubel. Bumper on off, Raza ducks and evades. 58/4
  • 20.5 Dropped! Easiest of catches, this. Should be taking that all day, every day. Rubel bangs it shorter around off, Waller cuts hard but the bounce gets a little big on him. The ball takes the edge and flies to Nasir at wide first slip. He just lets it slip from his palms. Poor effort. Single taken.
  • 20.4 Shaping back in on middle and leg, tucks it behind square leg and crosses over.
  • 20.3 Makes good connection on this as he drives it hard through to sweeper cover. Single taken.
  • 20.2 Touch ahead of a length just outside off, driven to mid off.
  • 20.1 Width offered outside off and Waller goes for it. Looks to flay this length length but connects only with thin air.

  • 16.6 OOoohhh... That was close! Length ball with some width offered outside off, Waller looks to thrash this through the off side but misses it altogether. 51/4
  • Three slips and two gullies in place for Malcolm Waller. This is something that wasn't expected. Well, interesting and bold to say the least...
  • 16.5 Outside off on a good length, play and a miss from the batsman.
  • Malcolm Waller makes his way into the middle.
  • 16.4 OUT! GONE! This is a big, big wicket for the hosts! Brendan Taylor, who was supposed to be the cornerstone of Zimbabwe's innings, is sent back. Seam up delivery outside off, Taylor fishes for it and is undone. He knows it, the moment the ball takes the edge and goes back, he knows he's gone. Mushfiqur Rahim doesn't make any mistake and Bangladesh are flying here.
  • 16.3 Cutter from the Fizz, keeps it fuller around off and Taylor doesn't pick it up. Prods forward and is beaten past the outside edge.
  • 16.2 Seaming away from around off, steered behind point. Wasn't too far away from the fielder, but just enough for the batsmen to pick up a single.
  • 16.1 Touch short on middle stump, Brendan Taylor moves a step across and wrists it through mid-wicket to get off strike.
  • 15.6 Dot ball to end the over. Firm punch from Sikandar Raza to the man at cover. It was on a good length and outside off, the batsman just played it away off the back foot. 49/3

  • 15.4 Good carry through to the keeper. Slightly outside off, on a good length, shaping away as Raza shoulders his arms to it.
  • 15.3 Short of a good length just outside off, Raza is watchful as he defends it under his nose from the back foot.
  • 15.2 Takes the pace off it as it's landed on a length around off, Taylor drops it down with soft hands on the off side and calls Raza for the run. Both run fast and complete it relatively easily. Nicely done.
  • 15.1 Bit fullish in length and outside off, Taylor plants his front foot forward and defends it off the inner half on the leg side.
  • 14.6 SIX! First one of the innings. Rahman rolls his finger on the ball and bowls it full outside off. Raza goes in for the drive, but gets deceived by the slower one. Mentions Imrul Kayes is not in the side due to a finger injury, and that they are going with two spinners with Shakib and Nasir and have three quicks.
  • Pitch Report - Athar Ali Khan doing the pitch report mentions that it has been cold the last week or two. Adds despite it being a 12 O' Clock start, you can expect the white ball to do things for the bowlers. Continues saying the track is a bit damper, not much grass on it though. Feels the first 30-40 minutes the ball will move around, but after that, the batsmen will enjoy their time in the middle. States the average score on this ground is 264. Ends stating again that once the batsmen see out that early period, the wicket will be a good one for batting.
  • TOSS - Bangladesh win the toss and opt to field!
  • The likes of experienced Hamilton Masakadza, Sikandar Raza, Malcolm Waller and Craig Ervine will have to pull up their socks and bring their A game to give them a tough fight. We expect a crackerjack of the inaugural match of the Tri-Nation Series. Join us at 1130 IST for live action.
  • On the other hand, the visitors, who are ranked last, will look to make a mark in the one day format. They will be boosted by the arrival of Brendan Taylor and Kyle Jarvis in the ODI colors. Their coach, Heath streak, having spent with the Bangladesh team, will add his inputs and help the batting department to excel.
  • Hello, folks! Welcome to the first match of the Tri-Nation Series which involves Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe. We are here at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka for our first encounter between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. Even though they did not play any ODI in 2017, the hosts go in as the favorites as they have been in prolific form at home. Tamim Iqbal has been notching up crucial runs at the top of order by playing his natural game, while the experienced campaigners - Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmudullah and Mushfiqur Rahim in the middle order will help them take the game forward. Their captain, Mashrafe Mortaza, will lead from the front in the bowling line along with the likes of Mustafizur Rahman and Mehidy Hasan who have been proved their worth every time they step on the field.
  • Right, then! That's it from this game. Zimbabwe might have lost this one, but they'll have to dust themselves off and get themselves ready as they take on Sri Lanka in the next encounter, on the 17th, which is in two day's time from now, at this same venue. Join us for that at 1200 local (0600 GMT). Cheers!
  • Man of the Match, Shakib Al Hasan says it was important to pick early wickets as the pitch got easier to bat later on. Mentions there was a bit of moisture early in the innings so that's why the plan was to start with spin and it paid off. On Tamim Iqbal, happily let's everybody know that he has been terrific for the last 2-3 years and hopes he can continue to do well. Says when you bat at No.3 you have more responsibilities and the team expects you to do well, so is just hoping he can keep putting up good performances.
  • Bangladesh skipper, Mashrafe Mortaza says it was tough especially when they went to South Africa so is nice to come back home and win. Credits his bowlers for doing well. Knew that with only 170 to chase, there was never a doubt they would get the job done. Takes a moment to applaud Shakib Al Hasan and his efforts at No.3 and ends saying that he's pleased with the overall performance in today's game.
  • Zimbabwe skipper, Graeme Cremer says they didn't mind batting first. Reckons 250 was a par score but can't be batting like the way they did. States they have experienced guys in the team but goes on to say that lack of playing time really does affect performances. Feels there are still lots of games to play so can turn their fortunes around. Adds that if they got through those first 10 overs without much damage, they could put up a better score but that didn't happen. Ends saying that they want to do better in the next game.
  • A comfortable win for Bangladesh as they start this Tri-Series in the best possible manner. They first started off splendidly with the ball, wrapping the Zimbabwean batting order for 170 with everybody chipping in with the wickets barring Nasir Hossain. And then, chased the meagre target down with ease. Haque started briskly and departed cheaply, but the Iqbal-Shakib partnership consisting of 78 more or less sealed the deal. Mushfiqur Rahim came post Shakib's dismissal and then added the finishing touches to this run chase. A well-earned victory for the host nation. Zimbabwe didn't put up any kind of a fight, except for Sikandar Raza of course, so a lot of work is needed to be done if they wish to be competitive in this tournament.

  • 27.5 Just in! Iqbal works it to backward square leg. It's Rahim who calls for the second and Tamim just reacts, albeit a little late. Rushes back as Taylor deflects the throw onto the stumps at his end. It's taken upstairs and replays show Tamim is safe.
  • A run out appeal against Tamim is taken upstairs. Could be touch and go...

  • Third of the over. Yikes! One more Free Hit.
  • 27.4 No ball! Oh, dear! That's not good. He's making huge blunders too, such a big margin. Fuller outside off, Iqbal goes for the drive through the covers but misses.

  • 24.4 The batsman has defended it by getting right behind the line of the delivery.
  • 24.3 SIX! Wrong 'un from Cremer and Iqbal has picked it up. Plants his front foot forward and dropkicks it over backward square leg for a biggie. Timed that perfection, beautifully hit.
  • 24.2 Presses ahead to this full ball and keeps it out with a straight blade.
  • 24.1 FOUR! A little comical out there. Blessing Muzarabani in the limelight here. Half-tracker outside off, Tamim hangs back and cuts it through backward point. Blessing moves to his right, dives and stops the ball, but it seems his foot has touched the rope. Replays confirm the same. But, before this was confirmed, the debutant funnily threw the ball somewhere not intended. Fell rather beside him really, not sure how that happened. Everyone has a laugh at that.
  • 23.6 Quite full and fast this time, worked away down the ground, towards mid on for a single. 132/2
  • 23.5 Goes with the spin again, another tuck on the on side.

  • 21.5 The batsman has defended it by getting right behind the line of the delivery.
  • 21.4 FOUR! Edgyyyy! Tamim won't mind it though! Raza bowls it quicker through the air outside off, Iqbal goes back to force it through the off side but ekes out a thick edge past the vacant slip cordon for a boundary towards third man.
  • 21.3 FOUR! Sloppy from Solomon Mire! Raza tosses it up on middle and leg, Tamim skips down the track, takes it on the full and whips it towards mid on. Mire moves across to his left but lets it slip through his legs. The ball races down to the fence.

He comes from around the wicket and bowls a slider which skids off the surface. Shakib looks to defend but misses to get pinged on the front pad. A loud appeal follows but the umpire shakes his head. Zimbabwe challenge the on-field call. There is no bat involved and Hawk Eye shows it's pitching in line and would have hit the leg stump. The decision is overturned! Raza with another wicket to his name.

  • 18.4 The batsman goes for the sweep but fails to connect it.
  • 18.4 NOT OUT! Clearly no bat! Wonder why did umpire feel the other way. Spinning down leg again, Tamim goes back and looks to tuck it away. Looked like he gets beaten and the keeper behind the stumps collects and starts to appeal. The umpire agrees and rules it out. Tamim is quick to the DRS. Replays show it's clear daylight between bat and ball.
  • Dear me! Tamim Iqbal is given out caught down the leg side. Seemed like he has missed it by a mile but the umpire, however, raises the finger. Tamim immediately signals 'T'!
  • 18.4 Wide! Turning down leg, Tamim misses his flick. The keeper collects and appeal but the umpire stretches his hands to rightly call it a wide.

  • Drinks! Bangladesh are motoring along quite well. They need just 69 more to register a win here. The experienced duo of Tamim and Shakib is doing the churning work with ease and are putting the bad balls away. Both look set to get to their respective fifties. Only a matter of time is what one would feel would require from the Bangla Tigers to finish things off...
