  • Mahmud talked about Mushfiqur Rahim and yes, that's the guy who has done well to see Bangladesh to the total that they have got. He got to his 2nd T20I fifty en route. Before him, Soumya Sarkar and debutant Zakir Hasan gave the hosts a flying start. That helped them set an early base for the final assault. The skipper Mahmudullah too, had a decent outing. Is what they have got enough for them? The track looks good for more runs. Let's find out how the Sri Lankans fare in just a bit. See you shortly.
  • Khaled Mahmud is up for a chat with Gautam Bhimani. The team director is very happy with the performance of Bangladesh with the bat. Praises the running between wickets by them as well. Reckons that their thought about Rahim revolved about his right place to bat in this format and they have zeroed in at the first drop spot.
  • Will Bangladesh be happy with the score? Not sure. When your score at the end of the sixth and the tenth overs reads 71/1 and 100/1 respectively, the end doesn't really paint a glorious picture. Jeevan Mendis put the breaks on the scoring with a couple of strikes in his first over. He ended up being the pick of the bowlers. The others weren't really too impressive. Isuru Udana and Shehan Madushanka, their main seamers, traveled to all parts of the park. In the end, Sri Lanka should be reasonably happy with what they have got as a target.
  • 19.6 Length delivery outside off, sliced over cover-point for a brace. 194 TO WIN FOR SRI LANKA!
  • 19.5 FOUR! Clever and effective. Hurled full on off, Rahim gets down and plays the reverse paddle. Gets it well over short third man for a boundary.
  • 19.4 Haque gets going on his T20I debut with a push towards long on.
  • The next man in for the hosts is Ariful Haque. He is on his debut as well.
  • 19.3 Good shot! Oh no, Rahman is KNOCKED OVER! My colleague KI's reaction made me write the first two words. Perera hurls a very full delivery on the stumps, Sabbir gets down to play the paddle. Due to the length, he misses the ball, that passes under the bat to just kiss the leg stump before going down to the fine leg fence.
  • 19.2 Rahim drives this one through covers for a single.
  • 19.1 A very full delivery on off and middle, Rahim comes down the track early and only manages to jam it past backward square leg for a brace.
  • The responsibility of bowling the last over rests on Perera's shoulders.
  • 18.6 Full on off, forced through covers for one. 183/4
  • 18.6 WIDE! This is sprayed well wide outside off, Rahim just lets it be.
  • 18.5 Good comeback. Isuru bangs this short in line of the stumps. Rahim looks to pull but misses it completely.
  • 18.4 SIX! BOOM! Rahim has picked the bones out of that. This is hurled full on off, he moves away and smites it over the deep mid-wicket fence for half a dozen less than a dozen.
  • 18.3 Rahman gets off the mark by driving it through the point region.
  • 18.3 WIDE! The batsman goes after a wide one and misses. Wide signalled by the umpire.
  • Sabbir Rahman makes his way out at number 6.
  • 18.2 OUT! Mahmudullah's adventure turns out to be a misadventure. He walks across to scoop this over short fine leg. Gets the elevation but fails to clear the man there. Dananjaya gets under it and pouches it safely. The 73-run stand ends with the Bangla skipper walking back 7 short of his fifty.
  • 18.1 Length ball angling away from Mahmudullah, this is hurled a bit more wider seeing the batter move to the off side. He looks to smite it over covers but gets a thick outside edge past the keeper. Madushanka does well at third man to keep it down to a brace.
  • 17.6 Inswinging yorker on a fuller length, Mahmudullah digs it out to long on. Is able to get just one for that. Two overs to go and the hosts are 29 runs shy off the 200 mark. 171/3
  • 17.5 Well bowled. Full on off, all Mahmudullah can do is hit it back to the bowler on the bounce.
  • 17.4 Good running. This ball is flicked away through backward square leg. Seeing the fielder be a bit slow to get to the ball, the second run is taken. However, Mahmudullah dives to make it in but Dickwella is unable to collect the throw. Would have been in though.
  • 17.3 2nd T20I fifty for Rahim! He has done well after being promoted to no.3 in this game. This is very full outside off, Mushfiqur jams it out towards covers for one. Gets a pat on the back from the skipper.
  • 17.2 Length ball on the stumps, pulled to short fine leg for a quick run.
  • 17.1 FOUR! Ideal start to the over! Perera pitches it fuller than a good length outside off. Mahmudullah hangs back and smahes it over covers for a boundary.
  • Thisara Perera to bowl the 18th over.
  • 16.6 Nicely hit. Hurled on a fuller length, Rahim clears his front leg and smashes it down the ground. Kusal Mendis moves to his left and gets in the slide to keep it down to two. 162/3
  • 16.5 The batsman has played it to the point region. They pick up a single.
  • 16.4 Full on the stumps, driven back to the bowler.
  • 16.3 Aerial but safe! Rahim slashes hard at it and slices it towards deep backward point. Perera runs in from that position and stops it on the bounce. He was on his heels there and hence couldn't reach for the catch. A run taken.
  • 16.3 WIDE! Another one, but this time it's a touch harsh on the bowler. Udana sees Rahim moving across and sprays it wider. In the process, the ball goes past the tramline and the umpire's arms are stretched immediately.
  • 16.2 Yorker outside off, pushed through covers for one.
  • 16.2 WIDE! This is full and outside off, Mahmudullah fails to get bat to that. Wide signaled.
  • 16.1 Should have been a no ball! A high full toss slanting away, Rahim slices it away over backward point for one. He is asking the leg umpire for the signal but there's none. He is hard done by and Udana is lucky to get away with it.
  • Isuru Udana is back for his third over. He is having a chat with his skipper regarding the field setting.
  • 15.6 Fuller and angling in, Mushfiq fails in his flick shot yet again. The ball strikes his pads and rolls to the off side. A leg bye added to the score. 154/3
  • 15.6 WIDE! Full and sprayed down leg, Rahim fails to flick.
  • 15.5 FOUR! 52 off 32, that's the worth off this partnership. Rahim charges down the track and smashes it through the cover region for a boundary. Nice batting by the hosts here.
  • 15.4 Short delivery at a slower pace, Mahmudullah pulls it towards deep backward square leg for one.
  • 15.3 This is lofted towards long on and should have been just one. But Udana overruns it and concedes a second as well. Not good. The stand is worth 48.
  • 15.2 SIX! Massive! Looked good to watch. This shot is surely going in my archives. This is hurled just outside off, Mahmudullah slinks down and plays the lofted inside out shot. There's enough on it to take it beyond the cover fence for a biggie.
  • 15.1 Hurled around off, defended towards covers.
  • Shehan Madushanka is back on.
  • 14.6 OUCH! Would have hurt Mendis. Flatter outside off, slapped towards sweeper for one. The throw was returned to the bowler, who fails to collect that properly. The ball hits his hands and hits his forehead. Painful. 139/3
  • 14.5 This is bowled outside off, side-arm action yet again. Mahmudullah cuts it through point for a couple.
  • 14.4 The batsman has punched the ball off the back foot.
  • 14.3 Floated outside off, driven through covers for one.
  • 14.2 FOUR! Why are the Bangladesh batters keen on reverse sweeping Jeevan Mendis? We saw the southpaws do that earlier and now here is Rahim. This one has the desired result though. This is bowled from a side on action, almost doesn't rise. Mushfiqur gets down and plays the reverse sweep well over backward point. It trickles away to the fence.
  • 14.1 Tossed up on the stumps, pushed back to the bowler.
  • 13.6 Flatter outside off, cut away for a single. 131/3
  • 13.5 Mahmudullah pushed this towards mid on and picks up a run.
  • 13.5 WIDE! Darted down the leg side, Mahmudullah misses the flick.
  • 13.4 FOUR! Not a good ball this. Short length ball on a flatter trajectory outside off. Mahmudullah goes back and slaps it through cover-point. The fielder in the deep gets to his left and puts in the slide but fails to prevent the boundary.
  • 13.3 Flatter outside off, punched towards covers. The fielder dives and prevents a run there.
  • 13.2 Floated on the stumps, defended back towards the bowler.
  • 13.1 Shorter in length, pulled away to deep square leg for one.
  • Akila Dananjaya is back on. 3-0-24-0 are his current figures.
  • 12.6 Good way to end the over. Jeevan has made a good comeback after being hit for a maximum off the first ball in this over. Rahim drives this one through covers to take strike for the next over. 10 off it. 123/3
  • 12.5 Floated on the stumps, worked away through mid-wicket for one.
  • 12.4 Almost chopped on. Mahmudullah looks to cut it away but gets a bottom edge to the keeper.
  • 12.3 Rahim now eases this through covers and gets to the other end.
  • 12.2 Flatter one outside off, punched through covers for one.
  • 12.1 SIX! Bazooookaaaa! Mendis tosses this one up generously around off, Mahmudullah is too good to miss out on this. Gets down and slogs hit high and handsome over the long on fence for half a dozen. Can we have 10s in the sport? This would have been worth that result.
  • 11.6 FOUR! Delectable stroke! Full and angling away outside off, Rahim gets his stride forward and plays the cover drive to perfection. Nice way to end the over. 113/3
  • 11.5 Shot but just one! Fuller around off, Mahmudullah charges down and hits it aerially towards deep extra covers. Gets just one though.
  • 11.5 WIDE! The batsman watches the bouncer go way above his head. Wide signalled by the umpire.
  • 11.4 Similar action, this time from Rahim. Gets a single as a result.
  • 11.3 Steered away to third man for one.
  • 11.2 Length ball angling away, cut away through backward point for a brace.
  • 11.1 Angling away, Mahmudullah fails to glide it away properly. Helps it to the right of the keeper, who stops it with a dive.
  • Isuru Udana is back.
  • 10.6 Eased through covers to retain strike. 3 runs and a couple of wickets in the Mendis over. 103/3
  • 10.5 Played through mid-wicket by Rahim. One run added to the total.
  • 10.4 Mahmudullah gets off the mark with the punch through covers.
  • Skipper Mahmudullah is next in.
  • 10.3 OUT! Wow! Clever work from Dickwella and Sri Lanka pick two in the over. This is the wrong 'un floated around middle and leg, Hossain looks to defend. Misses the ball due to the slight turn away and the ball misses the bat, brushes the left elbow and goes down. As it does so, the bat comes back as a part of the natural movement. The ball hits it on the back part and lobs towards the keeper. Niroshan spots that and dives forward to his left to take that. Unfortunate end for the debutant, a blob in his maiden outing. Now, up to the tourists to pounce on this opening.
  • 10.2 On the stumps, nudged away to mid-wicket for nothing.
  • Debutant Afif Hossain walks out to bat now.
  • 10.1 OUT! Man with the golden arm? Jeevan Mendis strikes off his first ball. He floats this around leg, Sarkar looks to play the switch hit. Looks good when the shot comes off but not here. He loses his balance and misses the ball to get hit on the pad. The players appeal and get the positive nod. The celebrations begin but the replays show that he has been lucky here. The ball PITCHED OUTSIDE LEG. Now, Sarkar seems to have done some damage to himself after doing the same to the opposition. He's been helped off the field. Crucial strike for the visitors.
  • Jeevan Mendis is brought into the attack.
  • 9.6 What an effort in the deep from Gunathilaka! Rahim skips down the track to this tossed up ball and goes inside out over extra cover. Danushka from long off covers good ground to his left and makes a classical stop to save two for his side. This also bring up the 50-run stand between the two. 100/1
  • 9.5 The batsman has defended it by getting right behind the line of the delivery.
  • 9.4 Eased down to long on for another single.
  • 9.3 Rahim goes back to pull but this one stays really low. Mushfiqur gets a op edge over square leg. The man in the deep comes running in to take it but the ball falls short. A single results.
  • 9.2 Maiden T20I fifty for Soumya Sarkar! He raises his bat and acknowledges the cheers on offer. Can he make a big one today? Around middle and leg, clipped away through mid-wicket for a single.
  • 9.1 Flatter ball outside off, Sarkar slaps it through point for a couple of runs.
  • 8.6 FOUR! Slashed away! Madushanka offers too much of width, Rahim cracks it through backward point for a boundary to end the over. 25 in 2 overs for Shehan. 93/1
  • 8.5 Defended off the back foot by the batsman.
  • 8.4 Slower ball and zipping off the surface and beating Rahim's bat who looks to punch it away.
  • 8.3 FOUR! Kaboom! Maybe, Rahim anticipated a short ball, he stays back and muscles the pull over mid-wicket for a boundary.
  • 8.2 Sarkar misses his tuck and gets it off the pads towards the leg side. A leg bye taken.
  • 8.1 Angling in on middle, worked towards mid-wicket.
  • Shehan Madushanka is back on. He was taken for 17 in his very first over. Time to redeem?
  • 7.6 The batsman has played that off the front foot and into the ground. Good over from Akila, just 4 off it. 84/1
  • 7.5 Another chance of a run out but no damage done! Sarkar reaches out to that one and flays it over cover. He gets to the other end but Rahim comes down in search of another one. The throw from deep is at the wrong end - the bowler's end which allows Rahim to get back in home. Had the throw been to Dickwella, Mushfiqur would have been gone.
  • 7.4 Short and turning away outside off, slapped through cover-point for a single.
  • 7.3 The batsman has flicked the ball off his pads. They pick up a single.
  • 7.2 Flatter ball, clipped through square leg for one.
  • 7.1 Loopy leg break around middle and off, pushed towards point.
  • 6.6 The batsman works it down the leg side. They pick up a single. 9 off the over. 80/1
  • 6.5 Good ball! Slower full toss, hurled wider outside off, Rahim swings and misses.
  • 6.5 Beamer! Perera immediately apologizes for that. This one seemed to have slipped out of his hands, Sarkar mistimes the pull to long on and gets one. Free Hit coming up.
  • 6.5 Two wides! Slower one, sprayed down leg, Rahim missed and Dickwella fails to get to it. They still take a run.
  • 6.4 In the air... safe! Back of a length delivery on middle, Rahim goes deep inside the crease to pull it away but doesn't time it well. The ball goes over square leg. Mendis from deep comes forward to take the catch but the ball lands short. It then trickles behind but the man from fine leg then comes into the picture to pull it back in play. Two taken.
  • 6.3 The batsman defends it from within the crease.
  • 6.2 Too high for both the batsman as well as the keeper! Shortish ball, slanting away outside off, Sarkar rises on the toes to ramp it over the keeper but fails to get any wood on it. Dickwella leaps as much as he could but the ball brushes his gloves and rolls behind. A bye taken.
  • 6.1 Shortish and angling in on the body, Rahim rolls his wrists over the pull to get it through backward square leg for a single.
  • 5.6 This one almost scooted through! Drags his length back a touch, Sarkar brings his bat down and nurdles it towards short fine leg. 13 off Akila's first over! Bangladesh are not sparing anyone at the moment. 71/1 in the Powerplay! 71/1
  • 5.5 This time Rahim hangs back and tucks it through square leg for a single.
  • 5.4 Stays back and works it down to long on to rotate strike. Sensible.
  • 5.3 SIX! What elan from Sarkar! Jumps out of the crease, meets the pitch of the delivery and sends it whistling over long on for the second maximum of the innings. Moves into the 40s as well.
  • 5.2 Flicks it off the pads through mid-wicket for one.
  • 5.1 FOUR! Welcome Akila! Rahim gets down and across and sweeps it over the man at 45 to pick up his first boundary of the innings.
  • Akila Dananjaya who had a dream Test debut is brought into the attack.
  • 4.6 A short delivery which has been pulled away. The batsmen have run through for a single. 58/1
  • 4.5 Back of a length delivery on middle, Rahim pulls it through mid-wicket to open his account with a couple.
  • 4.4 Direct hit and Rahim would have been gone for all money. Sarkar dabs it towards short third man and calls for the single. The fielder there has a shy at the striker's end but he misses. Had he hit Rahim would have been a goner as he wasn't even in the frame.
  • 4.3 Played with an angled bat to point.
  • 4.3 Wide! Fuller in length, sprayed wide outside off and it doesn't rise at all. Scoots through the surface but well outside the tramline.
  • 4.2 FOUR! Strays it on the pads, Sarkar clips it fine down the leg side for another boundary.
  • 4.1 Slower delivery, angling away, Sarkar sans any feet movement goes after it and gets beaten.
  • The experienced Mushfiqur Rahim walks in next, replacing Zakir. Also, Thisara Perera comes into the attack. He usually bowls after the Powerplay but here the runs have come at a rapid pace and hence Chandimal feels it's time to bring him in.
  • 3.6 OUT! Bowled 'em! Sri Lanka finally get a breakthrough. Gunathilaka bowls an arm ball, it keeps coming in and stays a touch low. Zakir Hasan gets down on one knee to slog sweep it across the line but misses to get his woodwork shattered. First T20I wicket for Danushka and he is all pumped up. 49/1
  • 3.5 On middle and leg, whipped through mid-wicket for a single.
  • 3.4 Zakir steps out of the crease to slog it across the line but is beaten by the slowness on the ball. Gets it off the pads wide of Dickwella who fails to collect. A leg bye taken.
  • 3.3 Waits for the ball to come into him and clips it in front of square leg for one.
  • 3.2 FOUR! Elegant! Tossed up delivery outside off, Sarkar dances down the track and absolutely drills it past the diving cover fielder for another boundary. His fifth already of the innings.
  • 3.1 Slower through the air, serves it a bit wider outside off, Zakir was initially trying to go big but then waits and just pats it towards cover for a single.
  • 2.6 Shortish delivery, angling in on the body, pulled towards deep backward square leg for a single. Another huge over, 15 off it. 41/0
  • 2.5 Another one on the pads but this time there is a man at fine leg. Just a single.
  • 2.4 FOUR! Poor bowling and gets punished again! Udana fires it on the pads, Soumya Sarkar moves inside the line and helps it on its way with a tickle. Hat-trick of boundaries for Sarkar.
  • 2.3 FOUR! Another boundary! Bangladesh are off to a flier here! Udana bangs in a short one but the line is down the leg side, easy for Sarkar as swivels a bit and helps it down to fine leg.
  • 2.2 FOUR! Shot! Just a lift but with pure timing! Length delivery, served outside off, Sarkar stands tall and lofts it over extra cover. No need to run for those.
  • 2.1 Starts off from over the wicket and hurls a length delivery, angling in, Zakir looks to tuck it away but gets an inside edge towards the right of the bowler for a quick single.
  • As expected there is a change in bowling. Isuru Udana replaces Madushanka who conceded 17 off the first over.
  • 1.6 Fires it on the stump,s it's the yorker, Sarkar could only jam it out back to Danushka. 26/0
  • 1.5 Tossed up outside off, bunted back to the bowler.
  • 1.4 Flatter outside off, ZH looks to cut but gets it off bottom edge towards point for one.
  • 1.3 Was that a chance? Yes! It was. But it was hit really hard. Floated delivery outside off, Sarkar nails it straight back towards the bowler who didn't have much time to react. He tries to catch but the ball pops out and deflects towards mid-wicket and they take one.
  • 1.2 Make a bit of room and eases the drive through mid off for a single.
  • 1.2 FIVE WIDES! Wayward delivery, fired down the leg side, Zakir gets down to sweep but misses and so does Dickwella. It races away towards the fine leg fence.
  • 1.1 Tossed up delivery on middle and off, Sarkar comes down the track to flick but gets it off the inner half through mid-wicket for a single.
  • Danushka Gunathilaka to bowl from the other end.
  • 0.6 FOUR! What a hit from the debutant. 17 off the first over! Short of a length delivery on middle and off, Hasan hangs back to swat it away. Didn't get it off the middle but had enough to get it over mid-wicket for a boundary to end the first over. That's some start for Bangladesh. 17/0
  • 0.5 Runs this length ball down to third man for a single.
  • 0.4 SIX! Top edgeee and clears the man at third man! Ahead of a length in the channel outside off, it moves away just a shade, Sarkar looks to hit it across the line but gets a big top edge. It balloons high up in the air but goes well over the third man fielder for a biggie.
  • 0.4 Wide! Sprays it wide outside off, it's outside the tramline, Soumya crouches low to jam it out but fails to get any wood on it.
  • 0.3 FOUR! Shot! Back of a length delivery, angling in on middle. Sarkar is a bit cramped for room but he still manages to pull it over mid-wicket for a boundary to get going.
  • 0.2 On a fuller length, just outside off, pushed towards the cover fielder.
  • 0.1 What was that? Woaah! First delivery and Madushanka has already created doubts in the mind of the batter. Hits the length, gets extra zip and bounce off the surface. Zakir stays back to defend but the ball takes the top half of the bat and lobs over the man at backward point. The man in the deep mops it up and Bangladesh get off the mark.
  • It's time to get underway. The players and umpires have made their way out to the middle. Zakir Hasan and Soumya Sarkar are the openers for the hosts. Debutant Shehan Madushanka will start off with the bowling proceedings.
  • PITCH REPORT - Tino Mayowo says it's a really good batting surface. He expects the batters to have a good time today. Adds it's dry and the little bit of grass on it has been trimmed away as well. Feels there will be hardly anything for the seamers as well as for the spinners. Reckons 148 is the average first innings total here but he expects more than that today.
  • Sri Lanka captain, Dinesh Chandimal says even he wanted to bat first but toss can't be controlled. Adds they have had a good time in Bangladesh and hopes for the same to continue. States they have been practicing really hard and have worked hard for results. Informs Shehan Madushanka makes his debut.
  • Bangladesh captain, Mahmudullah feels it's a good wicket to bat on and hopes to get a good total on the board. Informs they have a few youngsters playing and four players are making their debuts.
  • TOSS - Bangladesh win the toss and opt to bat!
  • With plethora of injuries in both the camps, it would be interesting to see who they choose in the series opener. We welcome you for the first game of the T20I series. Toss and teams will be up in a bit. Stick with us.
  • Having won the tri-series and then the Test series, Sri Lanka will be brimming with confidence and their next aim will be to fly back home with their hands on the T20I series as well. Bangladesh, on the other hand, have called a few uncapped players for this version of the game due to injuries to their key players. The ever reliant Shakib Al Hasan's absence has hurt them big time while Tamim and Rahim too are doubtful to start today due to niggles.
  • So, Sri Lanka continue to rise, something which was missing on their part since quite a while. Since the tri-series final, they have been marching in the right direction and on the back of today's performance, they are on the cusp of taking the T20I series as well. Bangladesh had another forgetful outing. Not that they were appalling but Sri Lanka were all over them today despite a good batting show from the hosts. Can they square the series on February 18th in Sylhet? Do join us at 1700 local (1100 GMT) to find out. Until then, Adios! Cheers!
  • Man of the Match, Kusal Mendis is very happy to get the runs for his side. Thanks the coaching staff for helping him out. Informs was asked to attack and consume less balls during the chase.
  • Victorious skipper, Dinesh Chandimal starts saying they had no idea that the wicket would be this good to bat on. Admits 194 is a big total and it's tough on any wicket but appreciates his openers to provide them a solid start. Smiles and says it was a good toss to lose then. Lauds Shanaka and Perera to finish it off for them. Opines they don't want to underestimate Bangladesh and would look to put up a similar show in the next T20I on Sunday.
  • Bangladesh skipper, Mahmudullah admits they were at least 15-20 runs short which is why they lost the game. Feels his bowlers couldn't execute their lengths and opines on such surfaces, if the length isn't found, you'll always be punished. Adds they had a lot of chat regarding the no. 3 and finally decided to hand the responsibility to Rahim. Appreciates the keeper for putting his hand up. Overall, he is pretty happy with the efforts from his batters. Calls it a tough day at the office and hopes for a good show in the last game.
  • After the departure of both the openers, there was a slew of wickets but Dasun Shanaka and Thisara Perera came to the fore in an emphatic manner and made sure that the required rate never swelled. Their association of 65 from just 30 balls helped them end their 8-match losing streak in this format with 20 balls to spare. Stick with us for the presentation...
  • Sri Lanka have beaten Bangladesh black and blue to achieve the highest successful run chase in Bangladesh. After getting swatted all-around the park in the first innings, Sri Lanka's openers, especially Kusal Mendis who was drafted into the side in place of Kusal Perera, did justice to his selection. He continued his form from white attire and blazed his way to a quickfire fifty off just 25 balls. He was well supported by Danushka Gunathilaka as the duo strung 53 for the opening wicket to set the tone for the chase.
  • 16.4 That's it! Sri Lanka win! Back of a length delivery outside off, Shanaka taps it in front of point and calls through. The fielder has a shy at the striker's end but misses. Sri Lanka chase down the target inside 17 overs!
  • 16.4 Five wides! Short ball, kicking off the surface and Shanaka cannot connect his pull. Poor Rahim leaps but even he fails to stop it. It races down to the fence and the scores are level now!
  • 16.3 Driven through cover for a single.
  • 16.2 FOUR! Into the gap! Drops it on a length on middle, Perera once again stays leg side and smites it over mid-wicket for a boundary.
  • 16.1 Shortish delivery, angling in, Shanaka looks to pull but mistimes it towards mid-wicket as the bowler himself mops it up.
  • 16.1 Wide! Slower delivery, down the leg side, DS moves inside the line to let it be.
  • Rubel Hossain is back into the attack. Just 13 needed now. Will SL chase it down in this over?
  • 15.6 SIX! Poor delivery and duly punished! Drops it short on the stumps, Perera goes deep in the crease and pulls it massively over mid-wicket for a maximum. Brings up the 50-run stand as well. Sri Lanka cruising their way to go 1-0 up. 181/4
  • 15.5 FOUR! Drops it short on middle, pulled over mid-wicket for a boundary.
  • 15.4 Backs away and flat bats it straight down the ground. Saifuddin from long on runs to his right and makes a good stop. Two picked up.
  • 15.3 Good stop! Gets down to play the reverse sweep by taking it on the full. Makes good connection but the man at short third man does well to stop it with a dive. A single taken.
  • 15.2 Darted on the stumps, Perera swings at it but wears it on the pads. The ball rolls away towards the off side for a leg bye is taken.
  • 15.1 Flatter ball, angling in, Thisara taps it out to the off side.
  • Mohammad Saifuddin is back into the attack.Actually, scratch that. Afif Hossain is handed over the ball now.

  • 0.1 Confusion straightaway. This is what happens when a new pair is in the middle. This is fired on the pads, Mendis pushes it towards mid on and thinks of a run. But seeing Islam himself run to the ball, Gunathilaka doesn't respond. Kusal does well to get back in, in time.
  • Hello! Good to have you back with us for the chase. Sri Lanka should be feeling quietly confident of gunning the total down due to the batting firepower that they have.
