Bangladesh Vs India Live Score (T20)

Date: Thursday, 08 March, 2018 23:11 IST Venue: R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo Match Status: Match Ended

India beat Bangladesh by 6 wickets

  • Vijay Shankar says it's been a good show from them. Reckons, back of a length is something which doesn't let batsman score freely and hence he likes to hit it more often. Is trying to adapt to the situation and is happy to do it. States they are backing themselves to chase this down.
  • Bangladesh will be very disappointed with their effort. Apart from Liton Das and Sabbir Rahman none of the batsmen got going and now it's a tough ask for their bowlers to defend a paltry score against a star-studded batting line-up. Will India continue to keep wood over Bangladesh? We shall find out in just a bit. We have Vijay Shankar up for a chat. Let's see what the pacer has to say...
  • Excellent performance from India after opting to bowl. They were right on the money from the word go and never did they let Bangladesh off the hook. All their bowlers got into the act pretty quickly especially after that thrashing that they received in the series opener. Unadkat got three while Thakur got two to his name. Both their spinners were pretty economical and tidy. They gave away just 42 runs and picked up a wicket in the 8 overs together.
  • 19.6 Another one on a shorter length, Thakur grunts as he delivers it. Taskin Ahmed mistimes his pull to mid-wicket and settles for a single. BANGLADESH FINISH WITH 139/8!
  • 19.6 Wide! This seems to have slipped out of his hands! Full toss, too, too wide outside the tramline. A good take from Karthik behind.
  • 19.5 Comes a couple of steps ahead and drives it towards sweeper cover for a single.
  • 19.4 Bangs in a short one, directing towards the batsman. Rahman is ages to late to swing across the line.
  • 19.3 Drags a pull off the inside edge towards mid-wicket for a single.
  • Mustafizur Rahman is next.
  • 19.2 OUT! Run out! Very full on the stumps, Taskin Ahmed drags it off the inner half towards long on and runs the first one hard. He wants another as well and Rubel sets off. Raina fires a flat throw to Shardul who seems to have not collected it cleanly but did well to deflect it onto the stumps at his end. They take it upstairs and replays confirm the same.
  • Direct hit, is it? Or has Thakur not collected the ball? Either way, the stumps are disturbed and a run out appeal is taken upstairs.
  • 19.1 Hits the deck hard, it rises a bit too much and it's too good for Taskin to hit it across.
  • 18.6 The batsman was beaten and missed the line of the delivery. 134/7
  • Rubel Hossain is the new man in.
  • 18.5 OUT! Sabbir Rahman has to walk back. It's not a bump ball, so Sabbir Rahman's stay ends as Unadkat gets his third of the night. He goes wide of the crease and angles away a very full ball outside off, Rahman tries squeezing it out but there seems to be some noise as the ball passes the bat. The umpire takes his time before raising his finger. Sabbir is quick to take the DRS. Replays roll in. Snicko shows a spike but not when the bat hits the ground. It shows when the ball passes the bat. The decision stands.
  • The umpire raises the finger to a caught behind appeal against Sabbir Rahman. It seems like a bump ball and hence Sabbir takes the review straightaway.
  • 18.5 Wide! That's ultra wide! Very full and miles outside the tramline, Sabbir lets it be.
  • 18.5 That's a harsh call from the umpire! The cutter from Jaydev, it moves away a bit, Rahman looks to pull but gets beaten. It was well inside the tramline.
  • 18.4 Doles a yorker, sprayed wider outside off, Sabbir Rahman fails to dig it out.
  • 18.3 SIX! That's gone the distance! What a hit! Rahman maybe, predicted this as he waits on the back foot to a length ball and pummels it over deep square leg for a maximum.
  • 18.2 Leg bye! Angling in again on middle and leg, Ahmed looks to tuck it away but gets it off the pads. The ball rolls beside the pitch as Sabbir calls him through. Taskin obliges. Now Unadkat charges to the ball, picks it up, turns and has a wild shy at the bowler's end but misses. The man from mid off does well to stop it with a dive.
  • 18.1 FOUR! Bangladesh have finally got a boundary. They need more of those! Fuller and angling in from over the wicket, Ahmed clears the front leg and whips it between long on and mid-wicket for a boundary to start the 19th over.
  • 17.6 Yes, he does! Back to over the wicket and digs in a short ball on leg, Taskin lifts his front leg as he pulls it towards fine leg to be on strike. Excellent from Shardul, just two off the over. 121/6
  • 17.5 Goes around the wicket and angles away a length delivery on off, clipped towards mid-wicket. Just one from the over so far, can Shardul finish well?
  • 17.4 Good length delivery on middle, Rahman finally connects. Gets it towards mid-wicket but doesn't want another.
  • 17.3 Third time beaten! This time it's the knuckle ball from Thakur. Sabbir swings wildly at it and gets beaten comprehensively.
  • 17.2 Rolls his fingers over the ball, this one moves away from off, Sabbir makes room to guide it fine towards third man but gets beaten due to the lack of pace.
  • 17.1 On a back of a length, closer to the off stump line. Sabbir swings and misses.
  • Shardul Thakur to bowl the 18th over.
  • 16.6 Bangs in a short one on middle and off, Taskin rises on the toes as he stabs it out towards backward point. 119/6
  • 16.5 Shortish on the hips, Rahman hops and tucks it towards mid-wicket for a single.
  • Taskin Ahmed is the new man in.
  • 16.4 OUT! Easy take for Pandey! Unadkat with an excellent slower length delivery on middle and off, Mehidy Hasan backs away to have a thwack across the line but all he manages is to sky it up in the air towards long on where Manish Pandey takes it safely.
  • 16.4 Wide! Bangs in a short one on middle and leg, Hasan can't pull it away. Wide called rightly.
  • 16.3 Comes from around the wicket and drops it on a back of a length outside off, Rahman pushes it towards point for a single.
  • 16.2 FOUR! Much-needed! Short and a bit of width on offer, Sabbir Rahman pounces on it as he flashes it through point for a boundary.
  • 16.1 Angles it away on a length outside off, dabbed down to third man for a single.
  • Jaydev Unadkat is back into the attack.
  • 15.6 Slower through the air, clipped with soft hands towards mid-wicket. Chahal himself does the mopping up work and he's done for the night. His figures read 4-0-19-1! 111/5
  • 15.5 Drops it short on middle, pulled with ample of time through mid-wicket for a single.
  • 15.4 Gets down and paddle scoops it over the keeper for a single.
  • 15.3 Sends in a googly this time, Rahman works it with the turn through mid-wicket for a single.
  • 15.2 More loop this time, Rahman blocks it out.
  • Mehidy Hasan walks in next.
  • 15.1 OUT! Chahal strikes! He comes back into the attack and breaks the stand that was starting to bloom a bit. He gives it a good flight, lands it around middle and off. Liton Das skips down the track to go big but the ball turns away a bit which made him reach out to that one. Mistimes it high in the air towards long off and Raina takes it with ease by coming a couple of steps ahead.
  • Yuzvendra Chahal is back.
  • 14.6 FOUR! Well played! Makes the most of the Free Hit! Walks across to a low full toss and paddles it over the short fine leg fielder for a boundary to end the over. 11 coming from the long, long over. 107/4
  • 14.6 Now a no ball! Shankar is just not able to complete his over or what? Very full on off, driven towards cover. Das wanted a single but is sent back. Free Hit time!
  • 14.6 Wide! Another wide! Fuller ball, a bit wider outside off, SR looks to drive but misses.
  • 14.6 Wide! Bumper one on middle and leg, Sabbir lets it be.
  • 14.5 In the air... dropped! But what an effort from Vijay Shankar! Simply terrific. Changes the pace again, keeps it full outside off, Rahman looks to heave it across the line but mistimes it high in the air towards mid-wicket. Shankar himself charges towards the ball, covers good ground and then stretches both his hands but the ball doesn't stick. Talk about athleticism! 100 up for Bangladesh as the batsmen take two.
  • 14.4 Good delivery! Bowls a slower back of a length delivery outside off, Sabbir Rahman swivels to pull but is undone by the slowness on the ball.
  • 14.3 Tucks a length delivery towards backward square leg and runs one.
  • 14.2 Shuffles across to play the scoop, Shankar drops it short on middle. The batsman can't get going with the shot.
  • 14.1 Shortish and angling in on middle, Sabbir helps/pulls it towards deep backward square leg for a single.
  • Vijay Shankar is back into the attack.
  • 13.6 Flattish outside off, Sabbir dabs it towards short third man to keep strike. Washington Sundar finishes with figures of 4-0-23-0! Very economical! 96/4
  • 13.5 Darted on the pads, worked through square leg for a single.
  • 13.5 Wide! Goes around the wicket and fires it too wide outside off. Liton still goes after it but misses.
  • 13.4 Loops it up outside off, Das chips it over extra cover and collects a brace.
  • 13.3 This time the conventional sweep is played! Loopy delivery outside off, swept behind square on the leg side for a single.
  • 13.2 Low full toss on the stumps, Das looks to play the reverse sweep but gets it off the bottom edge towards short third man for a single.
  • 13.1 FOUR! 8 from the last two balls! Floated delivery around middle and off, Liton Das dances down the track and lofts it over mid-wicket for a boundary.
  • 12.6 FOUR! Ahh, the extra ball costs India a boundary here! Fuller in length and outside off, Rahman drives it on the up and splits the gap between extra cover and mid off. 85/4
  • 12.6 Bends his back and hits the deck hard does Shardul, Rahman tries to pull it across the line but this one bounces way over him to the keeper. Wide called for the height.
  • 12.5 Fuller and angling in on the pads, nudged through mid-wicket for another single.
  • 12.4 Since the mid off is inside the circle, Shardul fires in a yorker outside off, Das tries to jam it out but fails to get any wood on it.
  • 12.3 Good length delivery on middle, flicked through mid-wicket for one.
  • 12.2 Another mishit! Short ball, a well-directed one. Das mistimes the pull towards deep square leg where Dhawan collects it on the bounce.
  • 12.1 Liton Das gives the charge, Thakur spots it and smartly drags his length back. Since the batsman is down he had to play the pull shot. Gets it off the splice over the bowler for a couple before the man from long off mops it up.
  • Shardul Thakur comes on to bowl now.
  • 11.6 Fires it right at the base of the stumps, Rahman just jams it out. Another fruitful over for India, just 6 from the last two and plus a wicket as well. 75/4
  • 11.5 Floated ball outside off, Das gets down to sweep but mistimes it towards mid-wicket for a single.
  • 11.4 Goes deep in the crease to a quicker ball and punches it towards cover.
  • 11.4 Wide! Full toss down the leg side, it seems to have slipped out of his hands.
  • 11.3 Goes back and clips it through square leg for a single.
  • 11.2 Flatter and quicker through the air, Sabbir rocks back to cut. Beaten again.
  • 11.1 Tossed up outside off, Rahman prods forward to defend, expecting the ball to turn but it doesn't. It goes straight on and he gets beaten.
  • Washington Sundar back on.
  • 10.6 What was that? A wicket has just fallen and Liton Das attempts a cheeky shot. He walks across to a length ball and tries to paddle it over the keeper but gets beaten comprehensively. Just 3 runs and a wicket off it. 72/4
  • Sabbir Rahman is the next man in.
  • 10.5 OUT! Gone! The pressure of dot balls gets the better of the Bangladeshi skipper. Back of a length delivery outside off, Mahmudullah makes room to hit it inside out but ends up slicing it towards sweeper cover where Shardul Thakur comes a couple of steps ahead and takes an easy catch. Bangladesh dented further.

Shankar bowls it wide outside off, Rahim tries to put bat to it but seems to have found the outside edge and the ball goes into the keeper's gloves. The players appeal but the umpire shakes his head. Karthik asks for a referral immediately. Replays roll in, they check for the front foot first, it's touch and go but the umpire gives it in the bowler's favour. Also there is clear indication on Snicko that he has found the outside edge. Rahim has to go back to the pavilion. Good use of the technology by the Men in Blue this time. The batting side are in big trouble here. Needless by Rahim.

  • Cricket is a funny game and you shouldn't expect the obvious to be the outcome always. India were favourites to have a cakewalk till the finals even in the absence of their big guns, but to their dismay, they lost the opener against the hosts, Sri Lanka. Hello and welcome once again from R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, for the second match of the Tri-Series, where India lock horns with Bangladesh. Bangla Tigers haven't had recent results in their favor when it comes to the shortest format of the game. They have just managed to win one encounter out of the last 13 played and are also coming on the back of a series defeat against the Lankans. They will want to start the series with a victory on the cards. On the other hand, Rohit Sharma and his boys will look to pull up their socks. They will hope to continue their dominance against their opponents and increase their tally to six wins out of six. Let's hope for a cracker of an encounter. Don't go away as we bring the toss and team news in some moments.

Bangladesh Vs India Live Score (T20) Ball by Ball Commentary

  • That is all from this game. The result panned out to be how everyone expected it to with India coming out on top quite easily. Bangladesh on the other hand, are struggling to find a win. They have a lot of things to sought out before their next game against the Lankans. It is also the next game of the tri series which will be played on the 10th of March in Colombo at 1900 local (1330 GMT). Till then, take care and goodbye.
  • Rohit Sharma says this good performance was expected from his team, from the first ball to the last and it was a complete team effort. Mentions they looked at what went wrong in the last game and worked on it, in particular what lengths they hit while bowling. Praises his bowlers for executing their plans and is happy with how they did. Realizes that their catching has been poor and goes on to say there's always room for improvement. Reckons his side is much better than that and hopefully they'll improve rather soon.
  • Mahmudullah says it's obvious they didn't bat well. Adds they fell short by about 15-20 runs and didn't adapt to the wicket as well. Further adds they needed to rotate the strike more and do better especially in the middle overs. States that they are just one win away from becoming really good again and that probably isn't far away.
  • Man of the Match, Vijay Shankar says he's been working really hard and is happy to have got this award. Adds that the last few years he's put in a lot of effort to develop his bowling and add some variety, which has helped him a lot. Wants to thank his parents for helping him get to this point, along with the people in the dressing room.
  • India back on track after a mini setback in the tournament opener and with that, they continue to dominate Bangladesh as they make it 6-0 in T20Is. Was as comfortable a game as they could have hoped for. First did the job with the ball by restricting Bangladesh to 139, with Jaydev Unadkat leading the charge with a 3 fer, and now, have cruised through the chase courtesy a superb Shikhar Dhawan fifty. His and Suresh Raina's stand of 68 runs more or less sealed the deal, with Manish Pandey then adding the finishing touches like he usually does. Plenty to ponder for the Tigers, time to rejoice for the Indians.
  • 18.4 And there's the game! INDIA WIN BY 6 WICKETS! Comfortable victory for the Men in Blue. Manish Pandey hits this towards the man at cover and calls his partner through to complete a well-deserved victory.
  • 18.3 On a good length and around off, a mistimed drive towards the covers.
  • 18.2 Length ball outside the line of off stump, cut away towards the covers, where a half-stop from the fielder lets the batsmen take a single.
  • 18.1 Just back of a length, slightly cramped for room but it doesn't matter to Pandey who punches it down the ground for a single.
  • Rubel Hossain is back on.
  • 17.6 The batsman has played it towards mid-wicket. They pick up a single. 137/4
  • 17.5 FOUR! Shouldn't be bowling there to Pandey. He has width, so he uses it well and cuts it fiercely through cover-point for a boundary.
  • 17.4 Angling in sharply, Pandey picks it off his pads and works it 'round the corner, but finds the man positioned there.
  • 17.3 Bit of width offered outside off, cut down to third man by Dinesh Karthik for a run.
  • 17.2 Glided with an open face again, but straight to the third man fielder this time. Single taken.
  • 17.1 FOUR! Deft from Manish Pandey. Nicely done. Plays this very late. Waits for the ball to come, opens the face and just guides it past the keeper. Really fine, even the third man fielder can't get to it with a dive. Boundary!

  • Dinesh Karthik to bat next for India.
  • 16.4 OUT! Dhawan is on his way, but the wicket's probably come a little too late. Full and angling in from around off from around the wicket, the opener walks a step across and looks to clear mid-wicket. Lot of height, not enough distance and Liton Das gets under this. Judges it well and takes a safe catch.

  • 15.3 Definite noise there, not sure of what though. Rahim went up instantly after collecting the ball. No response from the umpire though. Dropped a little short on off, spins away ever so slightly and goes past the outside edge. Think the sound was of the bat hitting the back pad. Good call from the official.

  • 14.3 Length ball aiming the top of off stump, Pandey drops it in front of cover and crosses over.

  • Manish Pandey walks in next.
  • 14.1 OUT! Rubel strikes immediately on his return to the attack. It's the short ball which does Raina in. He awkwardly fends it away on the leg side, scoops it towards Mehidy Hasan at square leg who takes a simple catch. Bangladesh have another wicket, but India are in a really comfortable position. 32 needed off 35.

The bowler and the keeper put in a loud appeal but the umpire once again shakes his head. This time though they go for the review. Replays roll in and the ball shows to be clipping the leg pole. The on-field call stays and Bangladesh don't lose their review. 83/2

Raina flicks it uppishly towards him. Hasan there dives to his left and gets two hands to it but can't hang on. The batsmen take a single in the meantime. How costly will this prove? Raina would surely want to make the Bangladeshis pay.

  • Rishabh Pant is the next man in. He has been promoted up the order today.

Sharma tries to run it down to third man but the ball is too close to him to play that shot. He gets an inside edge which disturbs the furniture behind. • 1.2 FOUR! Classic Rohit Sharma! A little short by Taskin on off, Rohit nonchalantly rocks back and pulls it over mid-wicket for a one bounce boundary.

  • 0.4 Good delivery! Back of a length and he bent his back on this one as it bounces a touch more. Hurries onto the batsman as he tries to flick, takes the glove and rolls towards the leg side for a run.
  • 0.3 Over compensates and bowls it on the pads, Dhawan though does not take full toll of it as he flicks it not off the middle, over mid on for a couple.
  • 0.2 FOUR! Starts from where he left off in the last game! Off the mark in style. Short and wide outside off, Dhawan guides it through point and the ball races away.
