  • Nathan Lyon was too hot to handle for Bangladesh. He finished with seven wickets and utilized the conditions quite well. Ashton Agar also picked up a couple while the other bowlers were decent. Let's see how Australia respond with the bat now. There are still a few overs left before lunch. Stay tuned...
  • Bangladesh have successfully managed to post a score in excess of 300! After opting to bat yesterday, they lost early wickets and were struggling at one stage. Nathan Lyon was the chief tormentor, claiming the top four batsmen, all via lbw. But after that, Mushfiqur Rahim constructed a century partnership along with Sabbir Rahman to bring the home side back on track. Nasir Hossain also played a vital knock towards the end which helped the Bangla Tigers achieve a good first innings total.
  • 113.2 OUT! Seven for Nathan Lyon. What a spell he has bowled! He finishes things off. Tosses it up on off, turns away from the batsman. Islam uses his feet and goes for a wild slog but gets an outside edge to Steven Smith who takes a sharp catch at first slip. BANGLADESH HAVE BEEN BOWLED OUT FOR 305!
  • 113.1 Slower through the air around off, turning away. Islam tries to defend but gets an outside edge through short fine leg for a brace.

  • 112.5 Works it against the spin through the leg side for a run.
  • 112.4 SIX! BANG! Where did that come from? Maxwell floats it on off, Islam comes down the track and hits it over the long on fence for a maximum. 300 up for Bangladesh.

  • 112.2 Flatter on middle, Islam defends it watchfully.

  • Mustafizur Rahman is the last man in.
  • 111.5 OUT! Another one bites the dust! Brilliant piece of work from Warner. A needless dismissal. Mehedi will not be happy with himself. Lyon bowls it slower through the air outside off, Hasan lunges forward and goes for a drive but gets it off the outer half through short third man. They complete a run and set off for the second. Warner hares after the ball from backward point, picks it up and scores a direct hit at the striker's end. The Australians appeal and the umpire goes upstairs. Replays show that Mehedi was well short of his crease. Not sure if there was a second there. The replays show that Hasan was looking back as he was running the second, concerned about his partner. And he might have made it in, if he was not that cautious about his teammate.
  • A direct hit! Well they are always close. The umpires have gone upstairs for a run out appeal at the striker's end.
  • 111.4 Nicely played, Hasan! Fires it on the stumps, Hasan uses the pace and sweeps it through short fine leg for a couple.

  • Taijul Islam is the next man in.
  • 110.1 OUT! Agar gets another! The last recognized batsman Nasir Hossain walks back. A fine knock by him. A very important wicket for the Australians. Ashton bowls it quicker but shorter outside off, Hossain goes back to cut but the ball is too close to him and he gets an outside edge. Wade behind the stumps makes no mistake as he pouches it. A good catch by the keeper. Bangladesh have lost their eighth wicket. Can Australia bundle them out before 300?

  • 109.5 Works it around the corner with the spin for a run.

  • 107.5 In the air... but just short! Beautifully bowled by Lyon! Gives it air outside off, turns back in. Mehedi tries to drive it against the spin but gets it off the inner half, uppishly towards mid-wicket. Maxwell stationed there dives ahead but the ball falls just short of him.

  • 105.5 The batsman has defended it by getting right behind the line of the delivery.

Hossain comes forward in defense but is beaten by the turn and is struck on the pads. Replays show that the impact is umpire's call. So it will remain not out. Nasir survives and Australia lose a review.
  • 101.3 Quicker on off, Hasan punches it through mid on for a run.
  • Nathan Lyon once again is looking in good rhythm. He is getting good amount of spin from the track. Mehedi Hasan, the off spinner, who is out there batting at the moment will be watching it very closely.

  • Mehedi Hasan is the next man in. He is no mug with the bat. He has played quite a few vital knocks for Bangladesh in the past.
  • 97.2 OUT! Oh, yes he can! Brilliant from the off spinner. The bowling change has worked here. Lyon floats it on off and gets it to turn back into the batsman. Rahim lunges forward and tries to block it but it takes an inside edge, brushes his front pad and then rolls on to hit the off stump. Mushfiqur Rahim, the skipper is walking back. He added 6 runs to his overnight score. Big wicket for Australia. They would now look to wrap up the innings as quickly as possible!
  • 97.1 Tosses it up on off, Rahim defends it off the front foot.
  • Nathan Lyon replaces Steve O'Keefe. He was brilliant with the ball yesterday. He bagged 5 out of the 6 wickets to fall. Can he repeat the same?

  • 96.5 Fuller outside off, Nasir does not fiddle with it.
  • 96.4 This time he gets the run! Just short of a length around off, Rahim guides it through point to change strike.
  • Pat Cummins has been off target, so far. Not sure whether it's the plan to bore the batsmen by bowling wide outside off. He anyway will bowl in short spells. Steven Smith should be using him as a wicket-taking option, rather than a run-stopping one. Pat can surely hurry up the batsmen with his serious pace. Australia missing a trick here.
  • 96.3 Back of a length on off, Rahim taps it towards covers and thinks about a run. He sees that the fielder is quick to the ball and refuses.
  • 96.2 Finally makes the batsman play. Cummins bowls it on off. Rahim keeps his eyes on the ball and defends it.
  • 96.1 Good patience shown by the two batsmen here. Cummins bowls it wide outside off again. Rahim lets it be.

  • 92.1 Defended off the back foot by the batsman.
  • 91.6 TURN! O'Keefe bowls it slower through the air on off, turns away from the batsman. Rahim tries to defend it but gets beaten. That was beautifully bowled. Good signs for the bowler here as this is the most we have seen the ball turn in this game. 257/6
  • 91.5 Defended off the front foot by the batsman presenting the full face of the bat.
  • 91.4 Shorter in length outside off, Rahim punches it through point for a couple.
  • 91.3 Dances down the track and drives it through covers for a run.
  • 91.2 Stifled appeal but nothing from the umpire. Steve bowls an arm ball on middle, Hossain plays for the turn but gets beaten as there is none. The ball hits the pads and goes to the keeper who collects it on the second attempt and appeals. The umpire stays put as there was no inside edge. • 90.1 Cummins comes steaming in and bowls a delivery from wide of the crease. He angles it into the pads, Hossain flicks it to mid-wicket.
  • The men who matter are out in the middle. Nasir Hossain and Mushfiqur Rahim will resume their innings. We have pace to start off. Pat Cummins will bowl the first over of the day. Here we go...
  • PITCH REPORT - Ed Rainsford says the pitch is quite dusty. He reckons days two and three are going to be the best day for batting. He opines it is not going to be easy to score.
  • Switching back to cricket! The hosts after suffering early blows yesterday, bounced back courtesy the partnership between Rahman and Rahim. They find themselves in a good position, although they still will hope to get past the 300-run mark to gain the psychological advantage. The visitors on the other hand, will try and bundle their opposition out as quickly as possible. A lot will depend on Nathan Lyon as he was their best bowler yesterday. We are in for an exciting day of cricket. Stay tuned.
  • Let's start the day with not-so-good-news. On the route back to the hotel last night a window on the Australian team bus was broken. No one was injured in the incident. The Bangladeshi authorities are taking it seriously and are investigating the cause. The security has been boosted since then.
  • Day 2, first session...
  • Nathan Lyon was the hero for the visitors. He started off the day superbly and then came back to break the vital century stand as well. With that, he completed his fifer as well. Ashton Agar was the only one to pick another. Pat Cummins looked threatening early on but then lost his steam as the day progressed. Steve O'Keefe and Hilton Cartwright were very ordinary today. The Kangaroos will now look to come afresh tomorrow and bowl out the home side in a hurry. The hosts on the other hand will want the current pair to keeping piling up runs. Join us tomorrow at 1000 local (0400 GMT) for all the action of Day 2!
  • Bangladesh will be happier of the two sides heading into the dressing room. The aggression of Sabbir Rahman mixed with the caution of Mushfiqur Rahim, has helped the hosts to get the momentum. Both went on to score their respective fifties and stitched a 105-run stand for the 6th wicket. Rahman then lost his balance and wicket as well. However, his wicket didn't do much damage as the skipper found an able partner in Nasir Hossain. Both these batsmen then scored boundaries at regular intervals and are amidst a healthy partnership.

  • 81.4 Hossain gets behind the line of the ball and blocks it.
  • 81.3 Punched off the back foot on the off side.
  • Nasir Hossain is the new man in.
  • 11th Test fifer for Nathan Lyon!
  • 81.2 OUT! That's the verdict from upstairs! Another fifer for Nathan Lyon! Short and spinning down leg, Rahman goes for the pull but in the process loses his balance. Wade collects the ball and seeing Sabbir's leg up in the air, takes the bails off. He is confident and starts celebrating. The umpire refers it upstairs. • 34.4 Rahim gets in line of this one and defends it towards covers.
  • 34.3 Needless! Fuller one into the batsman, Rahim plays it back to the bowler. Cummins collects it and fires the throw at the batsman for some reason. That was far from the stumps, Pat need not have done that. He says sorry to make up for it. The ball deflects towards the leg side but the batsmen do not take the run. Only Shakib wanted it, not Rahim anyway.
  • 34.2 Shakib turns it through the backward square leg for a single.

  • Mushfiqur Rahim is the new man in.
  • 33.6 OUT! Lyon strikes again! Flatter on middle and leg, Haque goes on the back foot to clip but misses. He is hit on his front pad, the players appeal and the umpire rules it out. Mominul looks to Shakib like a kid looking to his mother for a toffee, about the review. Haque does not get the approval from the senior and he walks back dejected. A start thrown away by him, 4 to Lyon! He is now the 7th highest wicket-taker for Australia in Tests. 85/4
  • 33.5 Comes forward and blocks this one.
  • 33.4 FOUR! Puts the bad ball away! Shorter in length outside off, Mominul spots it and slaps it to the left of the cover fielder for a boundary. He was moving to his right at first, blinded by something there.

  • Welcome back, folks! The men concerned are making their way out in the centre. Shakib Al Hasan has joined Mominul Haque. Nathan Lyon to complete his over. Here we go...
  • Day 1, second session...
  • Bangladesh were in a similar situation in the first Test match as well and the experience of Tamim and Shakib bailed them out. This time they will be relying on their middle order to do the job. Can they stand up and deliver? It's not going to be easy against Lyon and Co. Promises to be an exciting afternoon session. Do join us in a short while.
  • Terrific session for Australia after losing the toss! All the three top order batsmen for Bangladesh were trapped in front by Nathan Lyon who bowled splendidly with the new cherry. Pat Cummins also breathed fire in his two spells but wasn't successful in picking any wicket (Tamim was dropped by Maxwell off his bowling). The other two spin bowlers, O'Keefe and Agar also supported well and were at the batsmen every ball. The pitch has not offered too much turn but the lines from the Australian spinners have been immaculate.
  • 29.4 OUT! LBW! Lyon strikes at the stroke of lunch! He is pumped up and the Australians will be the happier of the two teams going into the break. Not exactly the slider, but it was delivered at a good pace, around 95.6 kph. It landed around middle and leg and Sarkar played forward for the turn. However, the ball went past his inside edge, clipped the front pad and then hit his back pad. The Aussies appealed and up went Nigel Llong's finger. Sarkar and Mominul contemplated a lot with but eventually decided against the review. The former wanted a second opinion but Mominul was defiant and sent him on his way. Hawk Eye shows the ball to be skidding on and clipping the leg stump. Had the review been taken by Sarkar, he would have still been out because the umpire's call would have stayed. That will be LUNCH ON DAY 1!
  • 29.3 The batsman has defended it by getting right behind the line of the delivery.
  • 29.2 Short and outside off, punched wide of the bowler.
  • 29.1 Full and around off, watchfully defended.
  • 28.6 Appeal for a catch, turned down. The Aussies are confident but decide against the review. Nothing in it basically, MH looked to tuck it away but the ball went off the hips to short leg. 70/2
  • 28.5 The batsman defends it from within the crease.
  • 28.4 HOW CLOSE WAS THAT? Very, very close. Mominul has to thank his stars. A wicket almost at the stroke of lunch. Landed around off, Mominul went back to flick it to the leg side but the ball came on slowly, took the inside edge and went right between his legs. However, it then dropped down and rolled back perilously towards the leg stump. Mominul had no idea and looked to kick it away years later while Wade was watching the cherry, hoping that it will hit the timber. It just rolled past the leg stump.
  • 28.3 Around middle and leg, flicked towards backward square leg.
  • A chat now between Steven Smith and Ashton Agar. The former is suggesting something but the latter is shaking his head. Eventually, nothing changes. Oh wait, something does change. Warner comes in from backward point towards leg slip.

  • 26.6 Sarkar has defended it by getting right behind the line of the delivery. 69/2

  • 23.2 Sliding down the leg side, Sarkar works it around square leg for a single.

  • 22.5 Bangs in a short ball, this time to Sarkar, who eases his pull shot behind square leg for a single.
  • 22.4 The follow-up delivery is full, Mominul hesitantly gets on the front foot and as a result fails to control his flick shot. It goes aerially but safely past the diving mid-wicket fielder for a single. Top bowling by Cummins.
  • 22.3 Nervy moment for Mominul. A well-directed bouncer by Cummins, Haque gets hurried up into the pull shot and fails to connect. It hits him on the badge of the helmet and pops out. The mid on fielder runs forward to gather the ball on one bounce. The Australian fielders thought that it came off the top edge and were excited momentarily.
  • 22.2 Goes full this time outside off, Sarkar drives it through covers for a single.
  • 22.1 Back of a length ball outside off, tapped down towards the point fielder.

  • 21.1 Edged and just safe! O'Keefe is a bit on the shorter side outside off, skidding away from the batsman, a late thought to play at it by Mominul but it takes the outside half of the blade. It flies past the diving first slip fielder and they take a couple of runs. 50 up for Bangladesh.

  • 20.5 Fuller and on off, solidly defended back to the bowler.
  • 20.4 Well done, Wade! Sliding down the leg side, on a length, Mominul fails to flick and it goes off his thigh pad towards the keeper. Wade flies to his right to make an excellent stop. Saves four for his side.
  • 20.3 A shade short in length and in the channel outside off, Haque is watchful as he lets it through to the keeper.
  • 20.2 On a length and in the line of the stumps, Mominul gets behind the line and blocks it to the off side.
  • 20.1 Lands it on a fuller length outside off, Sarkar drives it down the ground, not from the middle of the bat but it goes in the gap. The mid off fielder cuts it off and they pinch a single in the meantime.
  • 19.6 FOUR! Again it's uppish but away from the reach of the fielder. Mominul is living dangerously. He jumps out of the crease to whip it across the line but ends up dragging it from the inside half of the bat. It goes aerially but safely over mid-wicket for a boundary. 47/2

There is some noise as it goes through to the keeper. Wade does well to snap it and appeals. Nothing from the umpire, maybe bat hitting the turf. In fact, the replays confirm the same. • 13.4 OUT! A successful review by Australia. Lyon serves a full flighted ball on off, skidding into the batsman, Kayes tries to sweep across the line but misses and is rapped on the pads. They appeal vociferously but the umpire shows no interest. Nathan Lyon thought maybe there were two noises but Matthew Wade convinces Steven Smith to take the referral. • Imrul Kayes walks in next at number 3.

Lyon dishes out a slider around off, skidding through the surface and thudding Tamim on the pads who was late in bringing his bat down. In fact, the replays show that his bat got a bit stuck behind the pads which prevented him from getting to the ball. It has hit him very adjacent to the wickets, they appeal and the finger goes up almost immediately. A very good breakthrough for the tourists.
  • 8.6 Beaten! Movement off the deck from a shortish length around off, Sarkar has to play at it but is beaten. In hindsight, he could have left it alone and trusted the bounce. Top bowling by Pat! 13/0

  • 6.3 Sharp bouncer, around middle, Tamim immediately ducks underneath it.
  • 6.2 Straighter in line, worked on the leg side, not in the gap.
  • 6.1 Dropped by Maxwell! That's a sitter. Back of a length delivery around middle, shaping away a touch, Tamim has a tame push inside the line and gets a fat outside edge to Maxwell at third slip. He spills a fairly straightforward catch. You don't want to drop Tamim. A costly miss.

  • 4.3 Full in length on this occasion, Tamim works it off his pads to square leg.
  • 4.2 Appeal for a catch, nothing from the umpire. Cummins surprises the batsman with a well-cooked short delivery. It's targeted at him, Tamim takes his eyes off as he tries to duck. • 2.6 Shortish in length again, defended from the back foot towards point. 5/0
  • 2.5 Back of a length delivery outside off, shaping away a touch, Sarkar pokes at it away from his body and is beaten.
  • 2.4 Full in length and around middle and off, Tamim gets forward and tries pushing it on the leg side. But it takes the leading edge and rolls in the gap at extra cover for a single. He is off the mark and like his partner in a streaky way.
  • 2.3 Slants a length ball outside off, Iqbal keeps his bat close to himself and allows it through to the keeper.
  • 2.2 On a good length in the zone outside off, Tamim shoulders arms to let it through.
  • Some issues near the sightscreen. Tamim pulls out as Cummins was in his delivery stride. Umpire Ian Gould is getting things fixed. Taking more time than it should.
  • 2.1 Angling away from the batsman, outside off, Tamim pushes inside the line and misses.
  • 1.6 Shortish, quicker and around middle and off, Sarkar gets back inside the crease and blocks. Testing over! 4/0
  • 1.5 FOUR! Bangladesh are away in a streaky fashion! Spinning away from the batsman from a shortish length, Sarkar gets back to cut it through the line but it takes a thickish inside edge and runs through Wade to the fence. He was late in reacting.
  • 1.4 Appeal for an lbw, turned down. Probably an arm ball landing around middle, skidding down and beats the defensive shot offered by Sarkar. He is rapped on the pads, they appeal but the umpire disagrees.
  • 1.3 This one skids back into the batsman from around off, Sarkar lunges in defense and gets it away from the inside half of the bat.
  • 1.2 Floated and fuller on off, Sarkar gets on the front foot and defends it.
  • 1.1 Flighted off spinner outside off, some extra bounce but very little spin, Sarkar allows it through to the keeper.
  • Interestingly, Nathan Lyon to share the new cherry from the other end. First time since 1938, Australia are beginning with a spinner in the first innings of a Test match.
  • 0.6 In the corridor of uncertainty, Tamim chooses to leave the ball outside his off stump. 0/0
  • 0.5 Edged but safe! Cummins aims for the yorker, not in the line of the stumps, it's outside off and Tamim brings his bat down to dig it out. It takes the outside edge and runs behind. A good diving stop by Maxwell at third slip.
  • 0.4 Hurls it on a length and in the channel outside off, a comfortable leave for Iqbal.
  • 0.3 This time the line is too straight as Cummins tries to repeat the last delivery. Not much movement and Tamim works it off his pads to square leg.
  • 0.2 Beauty of a delivery! Cummins lands it on a length just outside off and gets it to move away a little. Tamim feels for it, not much footwork, and gets beaten. Not far from edging it.
  • 0.1 Starts with a gentle loosener, full and way wide outside off, Tamim has an easy leave.
  • It's time to get underway! The Australian team is taking the field. Tamim Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar are expected openers for Bangladesh. Pat Cummins, the only speedster, in the Aussies line-up will begin proceedings (I know Hilton Cartwright also bowls seam up, but he ain't a speedster). Three slips in place. Here we go...
  • Pitch report - The deck is a lot lighter in colour than it was in Dhaka. Won't crumble much like the last match. Once you get in, start making as many runs as possible, as it will deteoriate with time..
  • Toss - Up goes the coin. Steven Smith once again calls it incorrectly and Mushfiqur Rahim has no hesitation in saying - BANGLADESH WILL BAT! They have made a single change, strengthening their batting by bringing in Mominul Haque in place of Shafiul Islam. Australia have a couple of changes. Usman Khawaja and Josh Hazlewood make way for Hilton Cartwright and Steve O'Keefe.
  • A golden opportunity of a Test series win over Australia will keep the home side going. At this point of time, they are looking a better-balanced team than the Kangaroos. The tourists although are certain to make some changes, given the injury to Josh Hazlewood and ordinary form of Matthew Wade and Usman Khawaja. Stay with us for all the updates...
  • Yet another spin test awaits the Aussies! After surrendering rather meekly towards the end of the first Test match, the visitors will be hurt. They had the chase going well till the time Warner and Smith were in the middle but as soon as they left, Australia crumbled like cookies. Many felt it was an upset victory but if you have followed Bangladesh's rise in the past one year, you will know it was well-planned and well-deserved.
  • Forecast for the second Test match in Chittagong is not promising for all five days but here we are starting on a bright note. The SUN IS OUT in its full glory and as of now, there will be no delay. On that positive update, let me welcome you all to the coverage.
  • Bangladesh's bowling wasn't at its best early in the Australian innings. However, they managed to improve their performance yesterday. Mustafizur Rahman finished with a 4-fer and was the most successful bowler as the Bangla spinners struggled for consistency. Now, the hosts will have to bat really well to first erase the deficit and then build on a lead. Stay tuned, they will be out soon.
  • Australia will be pleased with their batting but at the same time will know that they could have done even better. David Warner, Steven Smith and Peter Handscomb played exceedingly well to set the tempo but the lower middle order didn't contribute much. The likes of Glenn Maxwell and Matthew Wade went into a shell when they should have dominated after tea yesterday and that probably has cost them a few runs.
  • So, it took Bangladesh 11 balls to pick the last wicket as Australia failed to add even a single run to their overnight lead. Anyway, the lead which the tourists have gained is still a handy one with the pitch deteriorating every minute.
  • 119.5 OUT! That's done and dusted! Length delivery outside off, Nathan Lyon again fancies a drive. Fails to middle it and ends up getting an outside edge. The ball flies straight to the fielder at first slip. Imrul Kayes accepts it gleefully and that brings an end to the Australian innings. AUSTRALIA ARE ALL OUT FOR 377!
  • 119.4 Good length delivery around off, Nathan gets behind the line of the ball to defend it.
  • 119.3 A bit fuller this time, Lyon prefers this as he leans forward and drives it towards the fielder at covers.
  • 119.2 A bit back of a length delivery this time, angles away a touch and the bowler induces some good carry from the deck. Nathan tries to defend it but is nowhere near the ball.
  • 119.1 Good length delivery around off, nipping away a bit. Lyon hangs his bat in defence only to get beaten by the away movement.
  • Mustafizur Rahman to bowl from the other end.
  • 118.6 Steve O'Keefe lunges to the pitch of the ball and blocks it away. 377/9
  • 118.5 Way outside off, Steve shoulders his arms to it.
  • 118.4 Quicker outside off, O'Keefe chooses to let it alone.
  • 118.3 Shorter around off, O'Keefe cuts it towards the fielder at point.
  • 118.2 Around middle and leg, Steve gets behind it to defend.
  • 118.1 Floated around off, O'Keefe comes forward and blocks it away.
  • The players are making their way out in the middle. Shakib Al Hasan to start first up. A forward short leg, a slip and a short cover in place.
  • Ed Rainsford doing the pitch report reckons that the rough is going to play a big part today and with the sun beating down, it would be really difficult for the batsmen. Mentions that Nathan Lyon will be the man to look out for as it will turn sharply from the rough area.
  • Hello and a warm welcome to the coverage for the fourth day of the 2nd Test between Bangladesh and Australia. The visitors have batted decently and now they will want their last pair to pile up as many runs as possible. Bangladesh, on the other hand, will look to start batting as soon as possible, as they are already 72 runs behind in the game. With rain clouds still looming, we hope that we get a full day of cricket. It's bright and sunny as of now. The first ball isn't faraway.
  • ... Day 4, Session 1 ...
  • The last pair of Steve O'Keefe and Nathan Lyon is out in the middle and the visitors will be content with whatever these two add tomorrow. The hosts on the other hand have to get the final wicket first and then get over the deficit to set a target for the Aussies. We have an early start on day 4 to make up for the lost overs today. The action begins at 0930 local (0330 GMT). See you then! Take care! Cheers!
  • Bangladesh's bowlers were much better in the last session. Mustafizur Rahman mixed up lines and lengths nicely while Mehedi Hasan got rewards for his probing lines. Their fielding though was very ordinary. They would be ruing their lost chances as Australia kept stretching their lead, which is 72 currently.
  • Bangla Tigers have pounced on the Kangaroos in the final session of the day. Australia managed to score just 56 runs in the 23 overs they faced in this session and lost 4 wickets as well. Matthew Wade and Glenn Maxwell's overcautious approach worked against them. They both got out in quick succession. Ashton Agar then tried to provide some resistance with Pat Cummins but both didn't last long.
  • The two umpires have a chat in the middle. The light is getting dimmer now and they decide to call it a day. It's STUMPS ON DAY 3!
  • 117.6 Spinning into the batsman, flicked with the spin to mid-wicket. 377/9

  • Mehedi Hasan is called back for a bowl.
  • Nathan Lyon is the last man in.
  • 116.6 OUT! TIMBER! Shakib gets his first of the match! That spun sharply! Tossed up outside off, landing in the rough. Ashton Agar goes for a big, booming drive against the spin but misses. It sneaks through the huge gap between bat and pad to clip the top of the stumps. This is a bowler's delight. Agar departs after playing a fighting knock. He also would be delighted to see so much turn on offer. 376/9
  • 116.5 Slower through the air, spinning in, defended off the back foot.
  • 116.4 The batsman has defended it by getting right behind the line of the delivery.
  • 116.3 Sliding into the pads, flicked on the leg side for a single.
  • 116.2 O'Keefe hangs back and punches the flatter delivery through mid-wicket. Good running between the wickets sees the batsmen take a brace.
  • 116.1 DROPPED A SITTER! Sarkar the culprit! Served outside off, it goes straight on. Agar skips down the track, expecting the ball to turn in. Fails to get to the pitch of the ball and looks to poke at it. Gets an outside edge and it goes straight to Soumya at first slip. He has plenty of time to take the catch but he looks to grab it in a hurry and that proves to be his undoing. The ball rolls away off his palms and a single is taken. A reprieve for Ashton Agar. The Bangladeshi fielding has been very ordinary today.
  • Shakib Al Hasan has been brought on from the other end now.
  • 115.6 Served around off, blocked off the back foot on the off side. 372/8
  • 115.5 O'Keefe dances down the track and defends with bat and pad close. The players appeal but the umpire stays put. The replay shows that the ball hit the bat first.

  • 115.3 Full outside off, driven firmly but straight to mid off.
  • 115.2 Agar uses his feet, gets to the pitch of the ball and drives it to long on for a single.
  • 115.1 Quicker through the air around off, spinning in, driven off the front foot back to the bowler.
  • Shakib Al Hasan is back on. Hang on, the skipper has changed his mind. Taijul Islam has been brought into the attack now. Shakib takes his cap back from the umpire and moves to his fielding position. This is the second time it has happened with Shakib. Although, this time he is eligible to bowl, unlike the last time. Maybe, the skipper wants to bowl him from the other end.
  • 114.6 Slanting across the batsman, O'Keefe covers the stumps and leaves it alone. 371/8
  • 114.5 Flatter around off, Agar gets across and punches it through mid off for a single.

  • 108.6 OUT! What a way to depart, Cummins! Hasan serves a floated delivery outside off, getting it to spin back in sharply and also staying low. Cummins gets across and pads it away. Does not offer any shot at all. The players see that and start appealing. The umpire stays put. Bangladesh are quick to opt for the review. Ends up blocking it off his pad and up go the Bangladesh players in unison to appeal. The umpire stays put and after a huge discussion, they opt for a review. Replays show that the impact was more than 3 metres in front of the crease which means the umpire's call will stay. The third umpire before sending the message asked Nigel Llong whether he can hear him to which Llong showed thumbs up. Rahim and the crowd thought it's given out and got excited. Funny! • Day 3, final session...
  • Glenn Maxwell holds the key from here on for the Aussies. They lead by 16 runs currently and will be aiming for at least 100 runs with five wickets in hand. The hosts will have to bowl a lot better and take their catches if they don't want to play the catching game. Do join us in a short while.
  • A good session of Test cricket. 96/3 in the 31 overs bowled. The play in the morning was completely washed out. Once it started after the lunch break, the Australian pair of Handscomb and Warner looked in fine touch again. However, the run out of the former gave the hosts a sniff. David Warner went on to score his century and along with Glenn Maxwell was building a good partnership when Mustafizur Rahman removed him. A brief resistance was provided by Hilton Cartwright but he played a poor shot to gift his wicket away just before the tea break.
  • 94.6 OUT! Caught at first slip! Loose, too loose from Hilton Cartwright. A tossed up ball landing wide outside off, fuller in length and not spinning much, Cartwright commits himself on the front foot and tries to defend it. • A little passage before lunch and Bangladesh will be buoyed after picking the wicket of Matt Renshaw. There might be somebody passing from there as the ball was being bowled. It would have been interesting to see what would have happened had the ball been on the stumps.
  • Seems like Mehedi Hasan is not fully fit to bowl mention the on air commentators.
  • Right then, Australia didn't take too long after tea to pick the remaining two wickets. They now need 86 to win this Test match and level the series. Once again it was Nathan Lyon who tamed the Bangla Tigers by picking up a 6-fer. He completely ran through their batting line-up and kept the hosts on the back foot. There was no fight shown by the top order yet again and some lower order contributions helped them take the lead beyond the 50-run mark.
