Suniel Shetty is back in the limelight, this time for his new TV show. Titled India's Asli Champion, the reality show on fitness has the contestants go through exhausting physical tasks.
Gossip Guy talk show host Renil Abraham met Suniel Shetty on the sets of India's Asli Champion where he spoke about fitness and his comeback. On being asked if he threw any tantrums on set since the temperature wasn't accommodating, Sunil said he would take short breaks to compensate for the heat.
Shetty denies the show is staged; he says "The drama which people are going to see is going to be real between the real people."
The contestants of the show are not celebrities but real people from different parts of the country. There is diversity in the type of people who have participated, like one of them is a 35-year-old mother, another is a standup comedian based in Mumbai. Just like an elder brother who is little tough and helpful at the same time, Suniel Shetty acts as a very caring mentor who wants to bring about a change in his contestants over the course of the show.
He goes on to explain that this isn't his first television show. He had hosted Biggest Loser Jeetega on Sahara One ten years ago, but it didn't work out for him. Since he has always been passionate about fitness, he took on the challenge of the show. He adds that he loved playing cricket as a child and it was his sheer passion for fitness that got him through his initial days in the industry.
Suniel Shetty took a break from the camera for almost four years and is coming back on screen with this show. When Renil asked him about his decision of moving to TV, he said since Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan have had a successful TV run, he hopes it will work out the same way for him.
