Sivakarthikeyan is the fastest rising star in Kollywood, with a proven track record of hits.
The trailer for his new film Remo, which was released on Monday, has gone viral. In 36 hours it has clocked 2.5 million hits, which is phenomenal by any yardstick.
The trailer has been well cut, clearly indicating that it is a musical romantic entertainer which will attract the youth and families, both of which are Sivakarthikeyan’s key target audiences.
Remo is directed by debutant Bakkiraj Kannan and produced by 24 AM Studios RD Raja. The film has some of India’s best technicians like cinematographer PC Sriram, sound designer Resul Pookutty and music by Anirudh.
The film has Sivakarthikeyan and Keerthi Suresh in the lead and looks to be a rom-com. Siva and Keerthi have tremendous on screen chemistry and their previous film Rajini Murugan was a big hit.
The highlight of the trailer is Sivakarthikeyan appearing in a female avatar as a nurse and trying to woo Keerthi Suresh, a doctor working in the same hospital.
The trailer indicates Sivakarthikeyan character is an aspiring actor and his role model is superstar Rajinikanth. Anirudh’s music and PC Sriram’s camerawork has given an additional glitz to the trailer cut by the specialist Antony Ruben, who is also the editor of the film.
The buzz in trade circles is that with Remo, Sivakarthikeyan is going to reach a new level as he goes up Kollywood’s stardom ladder. All areas of the film has been sold out based on the box-office performance of the actors previous hit Rajini Murugan.
The producer of the film RD Raja has aggressively marketed the film, in such way that overseas territories too has been sold at record prices. A lot is riding on Remo for Sivakarthikeyan as the film gets ready for a 7 October release worldwide.
