Ranbir Kapoor and Mahira Khan were in the news last year when a ban was imposed on the import of Pakistani actors and technicians by Indian cinema. While Kapoor's film, Karan Johar's romantic drama Ae Dil Hai Mushkil made headlines for casting Pakistani actor Fawad Khan, Mahira was not allowed to promote her debut Hindi film, Rahul Dholakia's crime drama Raees, opposite Shah Rukh Khan.
Now, the two shared the same platform at a recent event: the Global Teacher Prize event in Dubai. Ranbir was seen sporting his look from Rajkumar Hirani's biopic of Sanjay Dutt.
They not only exchanged pleasantries with the guests together but also were seen indulging in animated conversations backstage.
In a couple of videos from the event, Mahira is seen pleading to Kapoor, with her back turned towards the camera. Kapoor looks hesitant at first but is seen responding to her 'repeated pleas' with a pleasant expression.

However, it is a distant dream to see the two talented actors share the screen space together given the ongoing political tensions between India and Pakistan. Kapoor is currently gearing up for the release of his maiden home production, Anurag Basu's action comedy adventure film Jagga Jasoos, opposite his former girlfriend Katrina Kaif.
He is currently shooting for Sanjay Dutt's biopic and will kick off his best friend Ayan Mukerji's supernatural film Dragon in September. He will share the screen space with Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan for the first time in Dragon, which will be produced by Johar's Dharma Productions. Though Kapoor has collaborated with Bachchan, in the capacity of an assistant director, in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 2005 film Black, Dragon will mark the first time he will share the same frame with the veteran actor on the silver screen.
