There is something intangibly affable about Ayushmann Khurrana’s songs. They convey the warmth of sunshine on a winter morning.
It’s dhoop in a loop all over again in Ayushmann’s new music Yahin hoon main. The music video is a love story with a twist. Boy is part of a rock band. He is also a salsa instructor. Girl walks in to learn dancing. It’s love at first sight. Then something happens; we see the girl alone hearing the song’s refrain…Yahin hoon main yahin hoon kahin na gaya tujhe chhod ke main (I'm right here, I haven't gone anywhere).
It’s a curiously reversed role for a love ballad where it’s generally the male missing the female.
The song co-written by Ayushmann with his friend and music collaborator Rochak Kohli. The two have earlier collaborated on the the song Paani da in Ayushmann’s debut film Vicky Donor and the track Oh heeriye for Ayushmann’s film Bewakoofiyan.
“Rochak Kohli is my closest friend. We share a terrific creative rapport since our school days.We used to bunk classes and compose songs together," says Ayushmann.
He also reveals his long association with Yami Gautam. "I know her from the time she was a school girl and I was a college student in Chandigarh. Her father headed the Zee Punjabi channel and I did a biographical film on the poet Bulleh Shah for the channel. I know Yami from back then. She's a very sweet girl."
They starred together in Vicky Donor, and now Yami and Ayushmann share screen space in Ayushmann’s new music video.
