Vivegam: Ajith's highly anticipated film to release on 24 August with U/A certification
Actor Ajith Kumar's highly anticipated Tamil action-thriller Vivegam has been certified U/A, and is slated to hit the screens on 24 August, its makers announced on Monday.
Directed by Siva, the film marks his third consecutive collaboration with Ajith after Veerama and Vedalam.
In the film, predominantly shot in some exotic locations in Europe, Ajith is tipped to be playing a secret agent. Vivegam also stars Akshara Haasan and Kajal Aggarwal. The film marks the Tamil debut of Vivek Oberoi, who will be seen in the role of the antagonist. Produced by Satyajothi Films, the movie has music by Anirudh Ravichander.
The film finished its shooting schedule on 6 July. According to a report, Ajith plays an Interpol agent and is said to have performed a lot of stunts without any body double in the film. The actor reportedly looks at his best form and also sports six-pack abs.
Vivegam has predominantly been shot across exotic locations in Europe. Kajal Aggarwal plays Ajith's wife in the movie and Akshara Haasan also reportedly has an important character in the movie.
The report also suggests that the film was made on a budget of over Rs 100 crore. This is the third collaboration of Siva and Ajith — after Veeram (2014) and Vedalam (2015). Vivegam is touted to be based around Pierre Morel's 2008 action-thriller Taken starring Liam Neeson.
