Varun Dhawan is set to be part of a film by Nitesh Tiwari, who directed the Aamir Khan-starrer and blockbuster hit Dangal.
The film is said to be a romantic-action drama, and Dhawan will play the lead role in it. The project will reportedly hit the floors at the start of next year.
It will be produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur and Ronnie Screwvala. Dhawan apparently met the makers of this film before flying to London for the shoot of Judwaa 2.
When asked about this film, Tiwari said, "I want it to be true," to Pinkvilla.com.
Varun Dhawan was last seen in Badrinath Ki Dulhania directed by Shashank Khaitan. His upcoming projects include Judwaa 2, which is a sequel of the 1997 film Judwaa starring Salman Khan in the lead role. Dhawan plays a double role and will be seen romancing Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu.
The film is directed by his father David Dhawan and is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. This is the second time that the father-son duo will be working on a film together; the first project they collaborated on was Main Tera Hero, where Varun starred with Ileana D'Cruz and Nargis Fakhri.
Nitesh Tiwari's filmography includes movies like Kill Dil, Bhoothnath Returns and Chillar Party.
