Varun Dhawan sustains head injury on Sui Dhaaga sets after stunt goes awry; resumes shoot post-treatment
Varun Dhawan has reportedly injured his forehead on the sets of Sharat Katariya's upcoming romantic drama Sui Dhaaga.
To maintain the authenticity of the characters, Varun reportedly went to the extent of performing his stunts sans any body double. According to a report by Mid-day, the Judwaa 2 star sustained injuries on his forehead during the film's shoot.
The same report states that Varun was adamant on doing his own stunts despite being made aware of the risks involved in shooting the scenes. The shoot was taking place in Chanderi, a small town in Madhya Pradesh on Friday.
As per the scene's requirement, Varun's character engages in a brawl in the film and falls from a flight of stairs. But while performing the scenes, Varun got himself injured on his forehead leaving a gash.
However, he was taken to medical attention immediately. While the doctor and the makers advised him to take an off and rest, Varun insisted on completing the film's shoot on time. Thus, after a two-hour break, the film's shooting resumed.
Sui Dhaaga, directed by Dum Laga Ke Haisha director Sharat Katariya, reportedly revolves around the Make In India scheme of the government of India. The two actors — Varun and Anushka — will respectively be seen in the role of a tailor and embroider in the film. The film, backed by Yash Raj Films, is slated to release on 28 September.
