Akshay Kumar is making sure he taps every opportunity to promote in the run up to the release of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha. Kumar will be seen alongside Bhumi Pednekar in the Shree Narayan Singh's directorial.
According to Mumbai Mirror, Kumar revealed that the original title of the film was Sandas: Ek Prem Katha, at a recent promotional event.
The actor recently met with the clean-up marshals of Mumbai as part of a promotional event for his upcoming film. Apart from praising the workers, he also intently listened to their problems.
Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is the story about a woman who leaves her husband because of the absence of a toilet in the house.
Despite picking a subject that has been largely unexplored in Bollywood and using the film as a social corrective, the actor revealed that the script was lying around for about four years.
After facing multiple rejections, the film is here and is creating a lot of buzz. Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Sawchh Bharat Abhiyan, the film urges everyone to take charge and not wait for others to bring about changes in the country.
Toilet: Ek Prem Katha will hit the screens on 11 August.
