Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, VIP 2 box office report - Akshay Kumar's film crosses Rs 50 cr over weekend

The Akshay Kumar-Bhumi Pednedkar starrer  _Toilet: Ek Prem Katha_ released on 11 August and has raked in approximately Rs 51.45 crore over the movie’s opening weekend according to box office reports. The film saw a decent opening day, and did business of over Rs 13 crore. It held steady on its second day, as there was an increase in the revenue it earned. This film, directed by Shree Narayan Singh, brought in over Rs 17 crore on its second day. The third and final day which rounded off the movie’s opening weekend saw a revenue of around Rs 21 cr, displaying an unusually massive incline for movies, according to a tweet by trade analyst Taran Adarsh.

Dhanush and Kajol’s  _Velaiilla Pattadhari 2_ (VIP 2) also saw its release this Friday, and the latest update is that the film has grossed over Rs 5.7 cr on its opening day, according to a tweet by Sreedhar Pillai.
