The Walking Dead: A heartbreaking mid-season 8 trailer teases an all-out war against Negan's troops
The Walking Dead has released an exciting new trailer and teaser ahead of the mid-season 8 premiere and from the looks of it, things are not looking all that hopeful for Rick, Maggie and their allies. But, rest assured, the clips tease plenty of walker-infused drama ahead.
Warning: Spoilers ahead (if you haven't watched the first half of Season 8 yet)
Having heroically steered the folks in Alexandria to safety during Negan's vengeful attack, Carl (Chandler Riggs) informs a devastated Rick (Andrew Lincoln) that he was bitten by a walker. The events of the upcoming episodes take place directly in the aftermath of his death.
The remaining survivors of Alexandria, Hilltop, and the Kingdom prepare to take on Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and his nefarious troops in an all-out war. The trailer concludes with Carl recollecting his mother's words before her death, "Before mom died she told me I was going to beat this world," he tells his father. "You will."
In another 30-second teaser, Carol (Melissa McBride) offers a rather bleak perspective on how things stand in a voice-over: "Winning just means we get to tomorrow. Maybe one more night. After that, no guarantees."
Co-executive producer Angela Kang was promoted to showrunner for the eighth season and the hit zombie apocalypse series has been renewed for another season.
The Walking Dead returns for the second half of its eighth season on 25 February.
