Hindi film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted the poster of this film with the caption "First look poster of #TheFakirOfVenice... Stars Farhan Akthar and Annu Kapoor."
While Kapoor is seen in the garb of a saint wearing saffron robes, a rudraksh mala and an indecipherable expression on his face, Farhan Akhtar is sporting jeans and a saffron kurta, and seems to be looking at Kapoor and whistling. The duo are sitting in front of two people in what appears to be a house; these people are probably their clients.
The subtitle of the film is, "Watch the con unfold from Mumbai to Venice."
The Fakir of Venice was supposed to be Farhan Akhtar's debut movie. The film looks at the story of two con-men who are hired to find a poor Indian man for an art project in Venice, and is directed by Anand Surapur.
The film opened the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles. It is based on an apparently true story of an art installation at the famous Venice Biennale. Apart from Kapoor and Akhtar, it also stars Kamal Sidhu, Mathieu Carriere and Valentina Carnelutti.
While Kapoor was last seen in Jolly LLB 2, Akhtar's last film was Rock On 2. They will be seen together on the big screen for the first time in The Fakir of Venice.
