Asha Bhosle turned 83 on Thursday, 8 September, and age has definitely not caught up with the legendary singer.
While we caught up with her and discussed her journey so far, Ashaji recollected her initial days of struggle, relationship with RD Burman, and her experiences working with the best music composers of the industry.
While she mentioned a few of her favourite songs like 'Mera Kuch Saman', 'Yeh Kya Jagah Hai Doston', 'Piya Tu', 'Yeh Mera Dil','Jaayiye Aap Kahaan' among others, we couldn't help but remember all the various remixes the singer was also part of.
Here's a look at few of these remix versions which were all the buzz in the past and that Bhosle was a part of, recreating their original magic:
'O Mere Sona Re'
'O Mere Sona Re Sona Re', the classic hit from the 1960s, was originally composed by RD Burman, and sung by Mohammed Rafi and Asha Bhosle. Bhosle even won the International Viewer's Choice Award for MTV India for this rendition.
'Parde Mein Rehne Do'
The sensational hit from Shikar (1968) was remade with traces of Ashaji and RD Burman's original. Bhosle won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer for this cult hit.
'Piya Tu Ab Toh Aaja'
'Piya Tu' from the movie Caravan (1971) was one of Bhosle's biggest hits, fondly remembered for Helen's moves as well. This song too won her the Filmfare.
'Jaanam Samjha Karo'
This pop song by Ashaji featuring Milind Soman was also nominated for the International Viewer's Choice Award for MTV India.
Though no one can easily match up to the versatile singer, who we must say, still manages to croon the way she used to during her prime, here are few of her other songs which were remade during the 2000s (the most recent being 'Dum Maaro Dum' featuring Deepika Padukone, and sung by Anushka Manchanda).
'Tu Tu Hai Wahi'
'Dum Maaro Dum'
'Jhumka Gira Re'
