Things turned nasty at Sanjay Dutt's do, celebrating the success of his latest film, Agneepath, when actor Shah Rukh Khan reportedly beat up scriptwriter/director Shirish Kunder, Farah Khan's husband on Sunday night.

SRK has denied the allegations. Reuters

While some reports say Khan got violent after an inebriated Shirish followed him into the bathroom, following which SRK pinned him to the sofa and landed a punch on him, other reports say, SRK lost his nerve after he overheard Shirish talking ill of Ra.One, something he had done on Twitter in October last year. That had not gone down well with King Khan. Kunder had tweeted: "I just heard a 150 Cr firework fizzle" and "Taran Adarsh writes the review of a movie. He trends, the movie doesn't!"

Mid-Day reported that Khan also said something about Salman Khan, Kunder's close friend,  "and that he'd teach him (Salman) a lesson, too".

In their reactions to the paper Farah Khan and Shirish said:

On her part, Farah maintained, "Shah Rukh has always told me that physical abuse is the worst way to sort out a problem, and that it means the person who's hitting has either a personal or professional crisis going on. So it saddens me to see him doing the same."

When contacted, Shirish said that he didn't even know when SRK walked in. Recollecting being dragged by the hair and pushed on the couch, he said, "Shah Rukh punched and jumped on me. And he had three bodyguards with him. I don't know what got him. I was numb with shock so I couldn't react. He kept screaming at me, 'What do you think of yourself? I'll see to it that you're out of this industry."

CNN-IBN said that Dutt intervened to separate the two, "also slapped Kunder for allegedly sending lewd messages to his wife Manyata and for misbehaving with a girl at the party."

Kunder said he would not press charges against Khan. Meanwhile, SRK has denied the allegations.
