Sridevi's painting of Sonam Kapoor was reportedly set to be auctioned off in Dubai
Veteran actor Sridevi was cremated in Mumbai on 28 February. It is a known fact that Sridevi used to paint as a hobby and would often auction her art work.
Recently, a painting of Sonam Kapoor done by Sridevi surfaced online. That painting, along with a painting of Michael Jackson, also made by the late actor, were reportedly supposed to be auctioned off at Dubai.
An unverified source said, "Sridevi has been painting for many years. It’s her favourite pastime. In 2010, an international art house approached her to auction her work. But she didn't agree. Since the event in Dubai is for a noble cause, it drew her. Sonam has a massive fan following in Dubai and her popularity has grown in the Middle East after her Project Runway outing with Elli Saab. The bidders are hoping that the painting will sell at a high price. Michael Jackson‘s her personal favourite. The bid on it will start at Rs 8 lakh," Hindustan Times quoted a report as saying.
Sridevi passed away on 24 February in Dubai due to accidental drowning following loss of consciousness in her hotel's bathroom. The actor was in Dubai to attend her nephew Mohit Marwah's wedding to Antara Motiwala.
A Times Now report stated that Sridevi stayed back in Dubai after her family members left in order to auction off her paintings.
