Spider-Man: Homecoming - Tom Holland wants to play Indian version of superhero. Watch video
Spider-Man: Homecoming has an Indian connection — yes you heard that right! In one particular scene, Iron Man finds himself at an Indian wedding drinking sherbet and wearing a kurta and pyjama. But this isn't the end of the film's tryst with India; lead actor Tom Holland recently said that he would love to play an Indian version of Peter Parker.
Stand-up comic Sahil Shah showed Holland a copy of an Indian version of Spider-Man, and Holland's first response was, "That's dope!" He said that he would love to step into the shoes of the character, but that someone who is Indian should ideally be chosen.
He was also shown a parody video of Spider-Man where a women professes her love for the superhero. Holland agreed to sing the song's lyrics too, carefully pronouncing the line, "Isspiderman, isspiderman, tune churaya mere dil ka chain."
Spider-Man: Homecoming has been received very well by critics, and was given rave reviews. It has been called the most enjoyable Marvel movie yet, and praised for its lead actor, special effects and racial diversity in terms of casting.
The main plot lines explored in this film are Spidey's new suit, his equation with Iron Man and interactions with antagonist The Vulture, who lures him to join the dark side.
Spider-Man: Homecoming also stars Michael Keaton Jon Favreau, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Tyne Daly and Marisa Tomei. It is directed by Jon Watts.
