Sniff trailer: Amole Gupte's upcoming film is packed with innocence, mystery and heroism
Writer-director Amole Gupte is all set with his upcoming film Sniff, trailer of which was launched on 19 July. The Stanley Ka Dabba director, yet again, spells magic with tiny tots in this mystery/thriller children film based on the adventures of an eight-year-old detective Sunny Gill who has special olfactory superpowers.
According to a report by The Hindu, Sniff is touted to be "India’s first kids’ action adventure franchise film". This film will throw light on the origin of Sunny Gill as a child spy. Along with the film, there is an exclusive three-volume comic book series by the name Sunny Gill & the Agents of Sniff which revolves around the adventurous tales of Sunny and his two friends.
Coming to the trailer of the film, it starts with our little superhero Sunny who has an inability to detect smell and is often found in embarrassing situations like forgetting to flush toilet after use. His grandmother comments on the child's predicament by saying that not being able to smell is same as not being able to see. And, with this, you suddenly start feeling for the poor child. But then, there comes a miraculous turn of events when Sunny, during one of his solitary travails in school, inhales gas formed due to an accidental chemical reaction in a Chemistry lab. And...he begins to smell.
But who would have imagined that his inability to smell would now metamorphose into a superpower that enables him to smell things from a distance as far as two kilometer.
Sniff is co-produced by Eros International and Trinity Pictures and is slated to release on 25 August this year.
