Shraddha Kapoor might join Sushant Singh Rajput, R. Madhavan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in their upcoming space adventure film Chanda Mama Door Ke. Kapoor has been approached by the makers of the film after a prolonged search for the female lead, as reported by Mumbai Mirror.
Although there is no confirmation of the news yet, it is being reported that the actress will reportedly start training for her role of an astronaut and start shooting towards the end of September.
Since Rajput has already undergone extensive training at the US Space and Rocket Center for his character, Kapoor is also expected to get under the skin of the character.
Madhavan is reportedly going to be seen in an Indian Air Force pilot's avatar for the third time. His first role as a pilot was in Anubhav Sinha's television series Sea Hawks, back in the 1990s. His second stint was in Rakesh Omprakash Mehra's 2006 blockbuster Rang De Basanti.
Rajput's last film Raabta alongside Kriti Sanon performed poorly at the box-office, whereas Madhavan's crime thriller Vikram Vedha managed to race way ahead of its competitors. Kapoor, on the other hand, is currently busy promoting her upcoming crime film Haseena Parkar, where she plays the titular role.
Slated to be released around Republic Day 2018, Chanda Mama Door Ke may be India's first space adventure film, as Mahesh Mathai's biopic of Rakesh Sharma, titled Saare Jahan Se Achha, is likely to release much later.
