Jaaved Jaaferi's son Meezan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's niece Sharmin Segal are the next star kids to make their acting debut. Firstposthad earlier reported that Bhansali would be launching Meezan. However, in a new development, Segal has reportedly been roped in to debut opposite Meezan, as well. According to DNA, acclaimed Marathi director Mangesh Hadawale will be directing the two in a Bhansali production.
Hadawale has helmed films like Dekh Indian Circus, which earned accolades internationally, and Tingya, which saw unprecedented critical and commercial acclaim.
The film in which Segal and Meezan are to be launched will be 'beyond socially irrelevant, hackneyed plots and cliched characters' and will be contemporary in its tone.
Everything about the film will be in stark contrast to Bhansali's films, which are known for their grandeur and opulence.
The film, which currently remains untitled, will be shot in real locations. Meezan has already started preparing for his role. He is undergoing strenuous training to bring his character to life, whereas Sharmin is getting the intricacies of acting right at an acting school in New York, reports DNA.
The film will go on floors once Bhansali finishes shooting for Padmavati, his upcoming magnum-opus with Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor in the leading roles.
