The Indian Express reports that not only Salman but also his father and veteran scriptwriter Salim Khan, sister Alvira Khan Agnihotri and stepmother and yesteryear actor Helen graced the occasion. Helen is a longtime friend of Parekh, along with Waheeda Rahman who was also present at the event.

Mumbai Mirror reports that Salim Khan was the first to arrive and the first to leave, with his daughter Alvira in tow. His son Salman, while launching the book, recalled the warmth and friendship that all the yesteryear actors shared and advised the contemporary female actors to take a cue from that.

Among the contemporary lot, only Richa Chadha was spotted at the event. Imran Khan was also seen along with her mother Nuzhat Khan. Imran's maternal grandfather, Nasir Hussain, had launched Parekh in films with his 1959 directorial, the romantic comedy Dil Deke Dikho.

Her former co-stars Jeetendra, Aruna Irani and Dharmendra also attended the event. Among the music composers who composed the songs of her films, Anandji of Kalyanji-Anandji and Pyarelal of Lakshmikant-Pyarelal were also in attendance. Jackie Shroff also joined all the celebrities on stage when Salman launched the autobiography.

The report by The Indian Express quotes Salman as saying, "I think it is a very difficult thing for anyone to write their own autobiography, mujhse toh life mein kabhi na ho (I would never be able to do it in my lifetime)."

Parekh concluded the event by saying, "Book leke dekho", a reference to her debut film - Dil Deke Dekho. She has worked in around 90 films, her last notable onscreen appearance being Aziz Sejawal's 1995 film Andolan. She is also a former chief of the Central Board of Film Certification and is currently involved in managing her dance academy Kara Bhawan and the Asha Parekh Hospital in Mumbai.
