Sachiin Joshi buys Vijay Mallya's Kingfisher Villa: All you need to know about the actor-entrepreneur
After failing to find bidders at three auctions, Vijay Mallya's Kingfisher Villa has finally been sold to actor and businessman Sachiin Joshi.
Joshi has reportedly paid a price that is marginally higher than the last reserve price of Rs 73 crore. The property was disposed off through a negotiated sale. He was able to purchase this property 12 years after he first visited it.
Joshi made his Bollywood debut in 2011 with Aazan directed by Prashant Chadha. Though the first look of the film received what was called an overwhelming response at the Cannes Film Festival, its theatrical release was marked by mixed reviews. He also starred in action film Mumbai Mirror directed by Ankush Bhatt and and Jackpot, a comedy thriller, directed by Kaizad Gustad.
He has also acted and produced films in the Telegu film industry, starring in four films, Mounamelanoyi, Orey Pandu, Ninu Choodaka Nenundalenu and Nee Jathaga Nenundali. While Orey Pandu saw him essaying the role of a mentally challenged man, the rest were romantic films.
His website describes him as owning businesses in the fitness and health, real estate and hospitality segments. In the past, he has acquired the Goan beer brand King's, acqquired a minority stake in PB Lifestyle and is the exclusive license holder for Playboy in India. He invested Rs 67 crore in the first tranche with respect to Playboy.
In 2012, Sachiin Joshi got married to his girlfriend Urvashi Sharma, who later changed her name to Raina Joshi. Sharma, who is a model and actress, made her debut in 2008 with Abbas-Mastan's Naqaab. The couple have a daughter together. Sharma was last seen on the big screen in Chandrakhaar which released in 2016.
Sachiin Joshi will be seen next in Ram Gopal Varma's erotic thriller Secret. Previously, the duo have worked together on Veerappan. He is also set to play a professional kabaddi player in Yaar Ivan directed by T Satya.
