RJ Suchitra tweets Dhanush, Anirudh Ravichander's private photos: What's the story behind #SuchiLeaks?
The drama surrounding singer Suchitra Karthik Kumar's Twitter account doesn't seem to end anytime soon. On Friday night, the singer shocked everyone by posting intimate photographs of couple of actresses alleging that they had an "arrangement" with some top actors and directors. Further, she promised her Twitter followers to leak more details about Dhanush, Amala Paul, Anirudh Ravichander and Chinmayi among several others.
It all began on Friday morning when several private photos of celebrities like Dhanush, Trisha, Andrea, Anirudh, Hansika Motwani and Divyadarshini were leaked on her Twitter page. However, the singer went on to claim that her account was hacked for few hours and soon, she deleted the pictures. And just when everyone thought that Suchitra regained access and control over her Twitter account, she shocked everyone with another series of tweets the same night.
Talking to a leading TV channel on Friday, Suchitra Karthik said, "My Twitter account has been hacked and I didn't know that several private photos of celebrities had been posted on my page until Aditi Ravindranath, a friend of Dhanush, called me on Friday morning. I've hired a private investigator to find out who's behind all this." When asked if she's going to approach the police officials to lodge a formal complaint, Suchitra, without offering any details, claimed, "My life is under threat. I'm not in a position to leave my home right now. So, I'm banking on a private investigator." A few days ago, the singer had claimed that the security personnel of Dhanush had manhandled her (she even tweeted a photo of her bruised arm); however, she retracted her statement saying it was just a 'game'.
Soon after the photographs appeared on Suchitra's timeline, her account has been switched to private mode which attracted a lot more attention with people wanting to know what was she posting. The constant flip-flop between who's actually handling her account has created a lot of confusion. The fact that the line between her actual tweets and those posted by an alleged hacker is getting blurred has left everyone dumbfounded and there are plenty of unanswered questions: Who's handling the account? And if she herself is handling the account, then why is she revealing all this? If she isn't well, then why is she being allowed to handle the phone? Why didn't she use a two-step authentication process to login to Twitter? If her account is really hacked, then why isn't she trying to delete it?
Another version of the story has emerged that all's not well with Suchitra's health. Recently, Suchitra's husband Karthik Kumar posted a video saying that for the past few days, Suchitra has been dealing with a certain condition. "It is indicative of a certain emotional state and a condition that she's in and all of us in the family are trying our best to help her and address this situation," Karthik said, adding, "I thank everyone in the industry for their support and understanding that what has happened to Suchitra could happen to anyone. I hope she would be treated the same way as you would treat your own family member."
In the past few days, it has also come to the limelight that Suchitra and her husband Karthik are going to part ways soon. But right now, the whole focus seems to be on her health and why she is revealing all these private details about celebrities in Tamil cinema.
Meanwhile, her peers in the industry have been extremely critical of her tweets and stated that she should stop doing all this. "Someone needs mental rehabilitation treatment; (an) unnecessary move to destroy the name of actors and actresses. Use social media properly!" P Samuthirakani, actor and director, posted on Twitter. He wasn't the only one to criticise Suchitra indirectly. Several others too voiced their opinions.
Singer Chinmayi took to Twitter saying, "Rahul and I spoke to Karthik Kumar when the issue first started and we understood immediately when he told us she was unwell. An emotional meltdown can happen to anyone. And Karthik Kumar put out a video on FB yesterday thanking people for the support. Let us be honest, a LOT of us have gone through major stresses, or our family members have. We don't talk about it. Thats all. However, whatever is going on in her account right now, (she blocked me ages ago for reasons best known to her) is WRONG! Effing wrong. Nonetheless, my conscience is clear and have nothing to be afraid of. I'll choose to be the better person. #karma."
