Ranveer Singh to play cop in Rohit Shetty's upcoming remake of Jr NTR's blockbuster, Temper?
Ranveer Singh is one of the most versatile actors of his generation — be it in roles like the passionate conman in Lootera or the Maratha general in Bajirao Mastani. The actor, will now reportedly, be seen in cop's avatar, in Rohit Shetty's next, as per DNA. The filmmaker had earlier said that the film will be an out-and-out action entertainer.
The film will reportedly be a remake of the 2015 Telugu hit film Temper, directed by Puri Jagannadh. Temper is the story of a corrupt cop who joins hands with a sumggler and makes money, illegally.
He is eventually shown the righteous path by his girlfriend, with some help from an honest constable. Temper had NT Rama Rao Jr and Kajal Aggarwal in leading roles.
Shetty is yet to confirm that he will be adapting the Telugu film for Bollywood.
Currently, Singh is shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati, after which he shall begin working for Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boys alongside Alia Bhatt. Shetty had earlier confirmed that the actor will start working on the film as soon as he finishes his prior commitments. Singh has never played a cop before in his life and this role will probably add another dimension to his already flourishing acting career.
