Based on the disappearance of SS Vaitarna, popularly known as Vijli or Haji Kasam ni Vijli, a steamship off the coast of Saurashtra region of Gujarat in 1888, the film will reportedly see Daggubati engaged in an attempt to discover the reason behind the disappearance.

More than 700 people went missing after after the ship got stuck in a cyclonic storm, and the event gave rise to multiple folktales and poems.

Although the actor and director are yet to confirm the project, reports say that the makers are already on a recce to find appropriate locations. The actor is not completely unfamiliar with the subject as he had played a naval officer in Sankalp Reddy’s 2017 war film The Ghazi Attack.
