Rajinikanth's fandom to be immortalised in Selvaah's 12-12-1950; first look out
Stories of fans' reverence for superstar Rajinikanth have always been celebrated. The actor, who single-handedly drives millions to the theaters, has been the inspiration behind mounds of pop-culture references. It is now time for his dedicated fandom to take centre stage. Actor, director Selvaah is making a film titled 12-12-1950, which is Thalaivar's date of birth. The film will be based on five Rajinikanth fans and will obviously be a homage to the star.
The film will be a comedy with specks of action and thrill here and there. The director told Indian Express that he had spoken to Rajinikanth about the film and he really liked the idea behind it.
He also said that the film will essentially capture what it means to worship one of Indian cinema's biggest stars and take his fandom to a whole new level.
Selvaah returns to film direction after a gap of 19 years with this film, having directed the 1998 Golmaal film before this. He will not only direct the film, but will also play one of the fans called, Kabali Selva.
Ramesh Thilak, Ajay, Adhavan and Prashanth will also be playing Rajinikanth fans in the film. The motion poster of the film was released on 8 July, 2017 by Tamil actor Sivakarthikeyan on Twitter.
