2016 had its share of hits and misses at the box-office. Hindi cinema is all set to strike back in 2017 with a diverse range of offerings which have kept cine-goers waiting for years. In order to add to that excitement, we list down 10 big films to look forward to, that come across not only as prospective blockbusters but also must-watch entertainers:

This crime thriller by Rahul Dholakia is all set to (re)establish Shah Rukh Khan as an anti-hero after his dark portrayals in Yash Chopra's Darr, Abbas-Mustan's Baazigar, Rahul Rawail's Anjaam and the Don franchise by Farhan Akhtar. Mahira Khan and Sunny Leone are part of the film as well, while Nawazuddin Siddiqui locks horns with SRK. Here's an ideal masala potboiler.

After exploring Kashmir in his last Haider, filmmaker Vishal Bharadwaj will transport the viewers to the scenic locales of Arunachal Pradesh in this period romance drama. He reunites his creative energies with Shahid Kapoor after Kaminey and Haider and with Saif Ali Khan after Omkara. Also, there is Kangana Ranaut to complete the love triangle.

Badrinath Ki Dulhania

The second installment in Shashank Khaitan's Dulhania franchise, this romantic comedy is sure to replicate, or even surpass, the success of its prequel Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. This will mark the third collaboration of the Dharma products Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt after Student of the Year and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. In typical Karan Johar fashion, parts of the film have been shot in Singapore.

Jagga Jasoos

This adventure film has been in the making for years now. Former lovers Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif will share the screen space again after Rajkumar Santoshi's Ajab Prem Ki Gajab Kahani and Prakash Jha's Rajneeti. Co-produced by Kapoor, the film has been shot in Cape Town, South Africa. The USP, however, is the director Anurag Basu who reunites with Kapoor after their blockbuster Barfi.

Half Girlfriend

This will mark the fifth time a Chetan Bhagat novel will be adapted onto the screen. Out of the four previous occasions, three have churned out big blockbusters in Rajkumar Hirani's 3 Idiots, Abhishek Kapoor's Kai Po Che and Abhishek Varman's 2 States. Arjun Kapoor plays Bhagat yet again in Half Girlfriend, opposite Shraddha who collaborates with the director Mohit Suri after two successful romantic films in Aashiqui 2 and Ek Villain.

In order to replicate the success of the highest grosser of 2016, Ali Abbas Zafar's Sultan, Salman Khan will come up with another entertainer on Eid. This will mark his third collaboration with Kabir Khan after Ek Tha Tiger and Bajrangi Bhaijaan.

The remake of a successful Kannada film, Tubelight is a period romantic drama in which Khan will be seen romancing Chinese actor Zhu Zhu in the troublesome times of the Indo-Sino War of 1962. Also, veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha will be seen gracing the silver screen with his dominating presence seven years after his last, Ram Gopal Verma's Rakta Charitra.

After the disastrous Welcome Back in 2015, filmmaker Anees Bazmee looks forward to redeem himself with this comedy family ensemble. Anil Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor will play the real life duo of uncle and nephew in the film. Athiya Shetty and Ileana D'Cruz and the seasoned Rathna Pathak Shah are also a part of this wholesome entertainer.

This is the first time two romantics at heart are pairing up for a romantic drama. Imtiaz Ali is all set to direct Shah Rukh Khan, who plays a guide in the film. Khan will be seen romancing Anushka Sharma for the third time after Aditya Chopra's Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Yash Chopra's Jab Tak Hai Jaan.

Golmaal Again

After a dry spell of seven years in the Golmaal franchise, filmmaker Rohit Shetty will be back with the fourth installment this December. Other than the regular ensemble of the series including Ajay Devgn and the mute character of Tusshar Kapoor, the film will feature Parineeti Chopra who will join the cast in tickling our funny bones.

Just like his last two films that released in December, filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali will close 2017 with yet another characteristic larger than life drama. It will be his second biopic after Bajirao Mastani. Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone will be seen playing the roles of Alauddin Khilji and Padmavati respectively. Also, Shahid Kapoor will share the screen space with the two actors and bring his own share of creative energy to the film.
