Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal's upcoming espionage thriller titled Raazi, directed by Meghna Gulzar, will release on 11 May, 2018, as per the director's tweet. The film is going to be based on Harinder Sikka's novel, Calling Sehmat and will be set against the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pak war.
The novel is about a spy who, in the service of the nation makes relentless sacrifices which involve her and her family, as well.
Bhatt will reportedly play a resident of Kashmir who is married to an Indian Army officer, played by Kaushal.
Firstpost had earlier reported that the film is essentially not a war drama. It traces the events that resulted in war between the two nations.
Bhatt's character remains conflicted about her responsibilities as the wife of an Indian Army personnel and her duties as a citizen.

Raazi will be Bhat and Kaushal's very first collaboration. The movie is produced by Junglee Pictures and Dharma Productions.
