Adding yet another feather to her cap, actor Priyanka Chopra has earned herself a nomination at the People’s Choice Awards for the second year in a row.
Last year, Chopra was nominated and eventually won the `Favourite Actress in a New TV Series’ award for her thriller drama show Quantico. As a result, she became the first South Asian female actor to win a People’s Choice Award.
Chopra’s show has come a long way and is currently airing its second season. She plays Alex Parrish, an FBI recruit. This time, she has been nominated for the `Favourite Dramatic TV Series Actress’ award, according to a report by The Economic Times.
According to the same report, she will be competing with Ellen Pompeo, Taraji P Henson, Kerry Washington and Viola Davis for the prestigious award.
Hindustan Times reports that Quantico has also been nominated, in the category of `Favourite Network TV Drama.’ The other nominations in the category are Empire, Grey’s Anatomy, Chicago Fire and How To Get Away With Murder.
Chopra has been making waves internationally since she made her singing debut with the single In My City in 2012. Four years down the lane, she has several singles and collaborations in her kitty along with Quantico and a negative role in the film Baywatch, starring Dwayne Johnson and Zac Effron, which is slated to release next year.
Prior to making her debut in the West, she had already won multiple awards back home in India, including a National Award for Madhur Bhandarkar’s 2008 film Fashion. Her fans in both India and the USA fervently hope that she adds yet another award to the list on 18 January, 2017 at the People’s Choice Awards in Los Angeles, California.
