Actor Pawan Kalyan's yet-untitled next Telugu project was launched in Hyderabad on Tuesday on the auspicious day of Dussehra. The film will be the remake of Tamil film Vedalam.
"It was a very low-key launch. Pawan Kalyan, director Neason and producer AM Rathnam attended the event. The film will go on the floors next year," a source from the film's unit told IANS.
The day was special to Kalyan for another reason as well. The Powerstar completed two decades in the industry on Tuesday.
Interestingly, Pawan Kalyan's next two films are remakes of Tamil hits and both the films had Ajith in the lead.
His upcoming Telugu actioner Katamarayuda is the official remake of Ajith-starrer Veeram.
The new project, which will be helmed by director of Mohanlal-Vijay starrer-Jilla, RT Neason, will be the remake of Vedalam.
Another Ajith-starrer, Vedalam was a 2015 revenge drama where the superstar played the role of a taxi driver.
A M Rathnam had previously produced the original Tamil film as well. It will go on floors only next year after the shoot for Katamarayuda is completed.
