Parineeti Chopra may star in Karan Johar's short film for upcoming Bombay Talkies project
Karan Johar's last directorial venture Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai, released in 2016. Now, the filmmaker is gearing up to helm a project again, and if reports are to be believed, Parineeti Chopra will star in it.
In the upcoming anthology film Bombay Talkies (just like the 2013 film) Johar will direct a 30-minute short and he has reportedly chosen Parineeti Chopra to be his lead actress, reports Mumbai Mirror. The theme for this anthology film is 'love and lust'. The other directors in the project, like the previous film, include Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar and Dibakar Banerjee. It will be backed by Ashi Dua and Ronnie Screwvala.
Explaining the theme of this upcoming anthology film, Dua spoke to Mirror. Without revealing too much, she said, "All of them will be about different equations of love and lust. I can't say which short I love the most since they are all my babies but it is great to enjoy the film in totality — like I Love New York or Paris Je'taime, where you enjoy some moments a lot more but you take home the film as a whole. That's the idea here as well."
The Mirror report suggests that Johar's story will be a "sensuous love story" that revolves around a woman (reportedly to be played by Parineeti) who is longing for a lover (which is speculated to be essayed by a popular TV actor).
However Johar refuted all such speculation saying that he will only begin filming this November and he hasn't decided on the cast yet.
Lots of speculation on my short film for #bombaytalkies ....I have yet to cast it and am only filming in November!
