Ishaqzaade was a memorable film for several reasons, such as the subject matter it tackled, the Rs 18.66 crore opening it had, and the fact that it starred new faces Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra in nuanced roles. Now, the duo are set to work together for the second time in a film helmed by Dibakar Banerjee.
Titled Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, this thriller centers on a man and woman who represent different versions of India and their relationship, marked by mistrust and suspicion. The announcement was made on Twitter through the official account of Yash Raj Films.

Speaking about the film, director Banerjee said, "This feels like my first film, again. I’ve had to unlearn everything I know to tell this story about a man and a woman who can’t stand each other but can’t survive without each other." His previous collaborations with Yash Raj Films include Titli and Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!
Parineeti Chopra was last seen opposite Aayushmann Khurrana in Meri Pyaari Bindu, where she also lent her voice for a song. Her upcoming project is Rohit Shetty's Diwali release Golmaal Again, where she has replaced Kareena Kapoor Khan as the leading lady.
Arjun Kapoor, who recently made an appearance on the big screen with Shraddha Kapoor in Half Girlfriend, will be seen next in Mubarakan. He shares screen space with his uncle Anil Kapoor, as well as Athiya Shetty and Ileana D'Cruz.
