Ninnu Kori first look: Nani to star in another romantic film after 2016's Nenu Local

After the resounding success of his last film, Trinadha Rao Nakkina's romantic comedy Nenu Local, Telugu actor Nani went to the USA to shoot for a romantic film, Ninnu Kori. On the eve of his birthday on 24 February, the actor unveiled the first look of his next on Twitter.

He looks like a quintessential romantic hero in the picture, emitting boyish charm and reflecting on life. The Brooklyn Bridge spans across the background and the rest of the picture is filled with what looks like sand or gold dust.

The tagline of the film is 'Let's Welcome Life', which hints at the genre of the film, which could be a slice-of-life entertainer. The title of the film seems to be borrowed from the song 'Ninnu Kori Varnam Varnam' from Mani Ratnam's 1988 action drama Gharshana.

Nani posted the picture on Twitter along with a caption in Telugu that read: 'Vizag nunchi USA varaku. Chinna pillalanunchi pedha valla varaku. Lovers nunchi pellainavalla varaku.' The Indian Expresstranslates the caption as, 'From Vizag to the USA. From children to adults. From lovers to partners.' This gives out an outline of the plot which gives the impression of the typical NRI film.

Nivetha Thomas is cast opposite Nani in this romantic drama. They have collaborated previously in yet another Telugu romantic film, Mohan Krishna Indraganti's popular film from last year, Gentleman. Telugu Cinema reports that the two actors are currently in the USA where they are still shooting for the film. Thus, it is obvious that Nani will celebrate his birthday on 24 February with the cast and crew of Ninnu Kori.

Ninnu Kori also stars Aadhi Pinisetty, Tanikella Bharani, Murali Sharma, Prudhvi, Rajasree Nayar, Neetu and Bhupal Raj. It is directed by debutante filmmaker Shiva Nirmana and produced by D V V Danayya. It is slated to release in July 2017.
