Mubarakan title track: Dhol meets rap in a decent mix of Indian and Western musical elements
The title track of Anil Kapoor-Arjun Kapoor starrer Mubarakan has been released. The song features Arjun, Anil, Ileana D'Cruz and Athiya Shetty, grooving to Rishi Rich and Yash Anand's music. Since Mubarakan is a story about twin brothers Karan and Charan, the song features a turban clad desi Arjun and a snazzy, westernised Arjun, sans the turban. Anil is his usual energetic self and pops up sporadically on screen.
The song is a typical party song, with a catchy beat and some rap thrown in. Rapper has penned the lyrics of the rap segment. Owing to its party theme, it is shot on an elaborate dance floor with the male leads surrounded by white dancers. The music of the song is a mix between both Indian and western elements. The song seems contemporary in the beginning and ends with a dhol segment.
The desi Arjun is paired with Shetty while the other one dances with D'Cruz in the song, reflecting the story-line of the film. In the story, Karan has grown up in London, and Charan in Punjab, which explains the missing turban and the kurta-pajamas. Contrary to popular belief, Mubarakan is not Arjun's first double role. He has previously done a double-role in Aurangzeb.
Mubarakan is an Anees Bazmee film. It is all set for a 28 July release. Watch the title song here:
