Now he has signed another biopic titled Moghul which revolves around what he described as the 'Emperor of Music', the late music producer Gulshan Kumar. Gulshan was the founder of T-Series which stands as a music giant today, managed by his brother Krishan Kumar and son Bhushan Kumar.

Kumar tweeted the poster of the film and stated that he collaborated with the path-breaking music producer in his debut film, Raj N Sippy's 1991 film Saugandh. Now, Kumar will get into Gulshan's shoes and play the titular role in Moghul. Currently, he is shooting for another biopic, Padman, which is based on the life of Arunachalam Muruganantham, a social entrepreneur who invented cost-effective sanitary pads for women.

Moghul will be produced under the label of T-series. Kumar has previously worked under the banner in Raj Kanwar's 2006 romantic drama Humko Deewana Kar Gaye. The film will be directed by Subhash Kapoor, who recently collaborated with Kumar for the courtroom drama Jolly LLB 2 which has become his fourth consecutive film to make it to the Rs 100 crore club.

Gulshan had both a celebrated and controversial life. He created a rage with his music production and shot to instant fame with the music of Mahesh Bhatt's 1990 romantic drama Aashiqui. However, he met an unfortunate end in 1997 when he was shot dead outside a temple in Andheri (West). While the police initially accused Nadeem of the music composer duo Nadeem-Shravan for facilitating the contract murder, Vinod Jagtap aka Raja confessed to the crime eventually and was awarded with a life imprisonment.
