Chapter 1 of the trailer of Akshay Roy's upcoming romantic comedy Meri Pyaari Bindu explored the first encounter and childhood of the lead pair, played by Parineeti Chopra and Ayushmann Khurrana. While they bonded over samosa, chutney and music in the Chapter 1, they take their relationship to a wild level in Chapter 2 that dwells on their college days.

In Chapter 2, they bond over typical pranks that college goers indulge in. Chopra is introduced as a girl who knows how to work her way around. She allows her classmates to cheat from her answer sheet during exams but on one condition - if they offer her a walkman, sunglasses or anything that she agrees to accept in return of facilitating a sneak peek into her answer sheet.

Chopra showers all her 'hard-earned' gifts on Khurrana and spoils him. As Khurrana recalls, their relationship is like that of a lead and his sidekick such as Gabbar and Sambha (which is also the name of Chapter 2) and Munnabhai and Circuit. Khurrana also draws an analogy between life and ice cream - "taste nahi kiya toh waste ho jayegi" (If you do not taste life then it goes to waste), referring to the 'live in the moment' philosophy of college goers.

Yet another popular old song adorns the video as the background music - 'Duniya Mein Logon Ko' from the 1972 film Apna Desh. The ending of Chapter 2 will remind you of a certain 'jumping car' from Rajkumar Hirani's 2014 science fiction satire 3 Idiots. But wait for it, there is a twist in there.

While Khurrana lends good support, Chopra is the heart and soul of Chapter 2. Both the actors remained absent in Chapter 1 which is why it was extremely low on star power. With Chapter 2, we have no complaints.

Meri Pyaari Bindu is co-produced by Maneesh Sharma and Aditya Chopra's Yash Raj Films. It is slated to release on 12 May.
