After the release of five trailers and a song sung by lead actress Parineeti Chopra, another song from Meri Pyaari Bindu called 'Haareya' has been released. The music and lyrics apart, anyone who loves vintage art and decor is bound to fall in love with the set the song was shot in.
In the song, lead couple Parineeti Chopra and Ayushmann Khurrana can be seen romancing each other and frolicking in different parts of the city. Ayushmann's character has been portrayed in two avatars — the hipster-looking writer who sits behind a type-writer and a man who is head over heels in love with his girlfriend.
The lyrics of the song talk about an intoxicating kind of love which the narrator has never experienced before. He says that despite seeing the moon and the sky full of stars, he has never seen anything like his lover, and that nothing can stop him from falling in love.
The song has a nice, warm feel to it, owing to Ayushmann's smooth voice, which will remind you of his debut 'Pani Da Rang' from Vicky Donor. In this song, you'll also see Ayushmann moon-walking and breaking into a jig spontaneously.
While the sound of the song is refreshing, the lyrics do not say anything new about love, making 'Haareya' sound like new wine an all-too-familiar bottle.
Meri Pyaari Bindu explores the relationship that a writer and singer share. Apart from Ayushmann and Parineeti, and also stars Sanjay Mishra, Monica Dogra, Sara Khan, Abish Mathew, Aparajita Auddy, Shreya Ghoshal and Kumar Sanu. It has been directed by debutant director Akshay Roy.
The film releases on 12 May 2017.
