National Award-winning filmmaker and Bengali actor Goutam Ghose has almost wrapped up shooting for Iranian director Majid Majidi's India-set movie Beyond the Clouds. The ace filmmaker told IANS over the phone from Mumbai: "I have almost finished my part in Majidi's film."
Goutam, the critically acclaimed Indian film director, has previously appeared in Srijit Mukherjee's movies Baishe Srabon and Chotushkone.
Currently being filmed in Mumbai, Beyond the Clouds is Majidi's first-ever movie in India and it also marks the debut of Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor's younger brother Ishaan Khatter.
Produced by Zee Studios and Eyecandy Films, the film dwells on nuanced human relationships. AR Rahman will be working on the score of the project, which will mark his second association with Majidi after Muhammad: The Messenger of God.
Earlier reports stated that Deepika Padukone did a look test for the film back in November 2016.

According to Deccan Chronicle, the xXx: Xander Cage actress got rejected by Majidi after the first look test, because the makers felt she was using the shoot pictures to further her interests in the international arena. According to another newspaper, the actress was the one who did not want to make a commitment till she read the final draft of the script.
Majid Majidi directed the film Children of Heaven, which was nominated to receive the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. His last film Muhammad: The Messenger of God depicted the life of Prophet Muhammad with historical and factual accuracy.
