It was earlier reported that the National Award winning filmmaker Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan is directing the first space adventure film of India, titled Chanda Mama Door Ke, which will star Sushant Singh Rajput and Nawazuddin Siddiqui who will collaborate with each other for the first time. Now, Madhavan has been added to the star cast and he is all set to play an Air Force pilot in the film.
This will mark the third time that Madhavan will play a pilot onscreen. His first stint as a pilot was in Anubhav Sinha's television series Sea Hawks, back in the 1990s. His second stint was in Rakesh Omprakash Mehra's 2006 film Rang De Basanti.
DNA reports that since the actor already knows the basics of flying, it will be easier for him to play a pilot in his next. Madhavan has also taken extensive training as a pilot in the National Cadet Corps (NCC) camps. However, the actor did confirm that he will be training with the help of simulators, rather than actually flying, along with Rajput and Siddiqui who have already started prepping for their challenging roles.
Rajput took to Twitter to express his excitement of working with the senior actor as it had been his dream for a long time. Madhavan also reciprocated the same feelings and admitted that he was bowled over by the former's performance in Neeraj Pandey's sports biopic from last year, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story. Interestingly, Madhavan also appeared in a sports film last year, as a veteran boxer in Sudha K Prasad's Saala Khadoos.
