Vishwaroopam has lost Rs 60 crore, says Haasan
First the film was banned for two weeks, then a single judge of the Madras High Court lifted the ban and then another judge said the film should not be released in theatres until next week. Actor, producer and director of Vishwaroopam, Kamal Haasan could approach the Supreme Court today seeking an order to allow the release of the film.
Yesterday marked a day of ups and downs for the producer. After the actor initially held an impasssioned press conference in the morning where he said he may have to leave the country if not allowed to release the film, he later said in the evening that he had reached a compromise with Muslim groups to cut some scenes from the film that had been deemed objectionable. However, even as that happened the high court stayed the release of the film.
Will the Supreme Court finally allow the release of the film? We track the latest updates.
