Kevin Hart's upcoming action comedy Night School to be directed by Malcolm D Lee
Los Angeles: Universal has tapped Girls Trip director Malcolm D Lee to helm its upcoming action comedy Night School.
The film will feature Kevin Hart who wrote it with Harry Ratchford, Joey Wells and Matt Kellard, with additional script work by Nick Stoller, reported Deadline.
The comedy follows a group of misfits who are forced to attend adult classes in the long-shot chance theyll pass the GED exam.
Night School is scheduled to release on 28 September, 2018.
Malcolm D Lee's previous projects include The Best Man Holiday (2013) for Universal Pictures, and Barbershop: The Next Cut (2016) for New Line and MGM studios.
The comedy actor will be seen in the upcoming Dwayne Johnson action adventure, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017). The film also stars Jack Black and Karen Gillan. It is the sequel of Joe Johnston's 1995 film Jumanji, featuring Robin Williams, Bonnie Hunt, Kirsten Dunst and Bradley Pierce. The first Jumanji (film) was based off a 1981 children's book of the same name.
In the upcoming sequel, four young high-school students are thrown into detention, under which they are instructed to clean the basement. One of them finds a video game named Jumanji there. But as soon as they start playing it, they are transported to a fantasy land of jungle, in the midst of extraordinary creatures. It is slated to release on 20 December, this year.
