Firstpost had previously reported that Sonakshi Sinha, Diljit Dosanjh and Aditya Roy Kapur are set to feature in an upcoming film. But a recent report by DNA suggests, Kapur quit the project after producers refused to pay his allegedly astronomical fee.
According to the same report, Pyaar Ka Punchnama actor Kartik Aaryan has replaced Kapur in the film. The newspaper quotes a source confirming the news and also saying that Aaryan had met Vashu Bhagnani, who is the producer of the film along with Wiz Films, numerous times and that final formalities are being done.
Aaryan began his acting career with Luv Ranjan's romcom Pyaar Ka Punchnama and rose to fame with his 5.29 minute monologue in the film. The same feat was repeated in the Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, where the actor pulled up a 7.80 minute monologue. He was last seen in Guest Iin London, starring Paresh Rawal, Tanvi Azmi and Kriti Kharbanda.
This untitled film's story revolves around three friends and how their lives change once they attend IIFA. All three characters have equal footage in the film, reports DNA. The film is slated to go on the floors with a 25-day schedule in New York, where IIFA 2017 is being held.
"The film will have elements of romance, comedy and drama. It should go on the floors this year. Things are in process as far as the title and director of the film is concerned. A formal announcement will be made soon," founder-director of Wizcraft Sabbas Joseph told PTI.
