Karan Johar, Salman Khan's film with Akshay Kumar similar to Ajay Devgn's next film?
If you thought the clash between Karan Johar and Ajay Devgn was done with, after Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Shivaay released on Diwali together, we have news for you.
It was earlier reported that Akshay Kumar will star in a film co-produced by Salman Khan and Karan Johar. This is a unique coupling (tripling?) as the three of them have never worked on a project together. They are also arguably the biggest names in the industry at the moment.
It was announced that the film will be ready to release in 2018, and will be directed by Anurag Singh.
However, Quint reports that this could cause major disconcert for Ajay Devgn and Randeep Hooda as they have been working on the pre-production of a film based on the historic Battle of Saragarhi.
The report claims that Akshay Kumar has been signed on to play Havaldar Ishar Singh, a military leader of 21 Sikh soldiers who led his army to a deathly war against Afghani invaders.
The war was then titled Battle of Saragarhi.
Ajay Devgn has announced the film last year itself, with the hashtag #sonsofsardaar indicating it would be a sequel of sorts to his 2012 film, Son of Sardar.

According to this DNA report, Ajay Devgn is due to play the same character as Akshay Kumar, Ishar Singh. This is supposed to be his next film after he wraps up Baadshaho. However, with Shivaay under-performing at the box-office, it remains to be seen what Devgn has in store for the film.
This takes the Ajay Devgn-Karan Johar fight to the next level also because Salman Khan was a part of Son of Sardaar, in 2012. Also, it has to be said, Devgn's project might have much more research and information at their disposal, but Karan's project has two of the most bankable actors of the industry at the moment, Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan.
