Indian television's favourite comic artist and actor Kapil Sharma is all set to tickle the funny bone of his numerous fans, once again, on the big screen. His second full-length feature film, Firangi, is all set to release this year on 10 November.
Sharma took to Instagram on 11 August and broke the news:
Firangi is directed by Rajiv Dhingra and stars Ishita Dutta and Monica Gill in the lead roles, along with Sharma.
According to a report by The Indian Express, Sharma plays the character of a local boy who falls for an NRI girl in the film. The report further added that Sharma had to lose a lot of weight for the film.
This is going to be his second film after the 2015 rom-com Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon, directed by Abbas Mustan. The film released with a massive opening and did a decent business at the box-office, as per reports by koimoi.com.
Recently, his show on Sony, The Kapil Sharma Show, was renewed for another year after speculations of it going off air due to low TRPs were doing rounds, as reported earlier by Firstpost.
Sharma is also planning to venture into the domain of digital entertainment and if reports are to be believed he is in talks with Netflix regarding the same. According to a report by Bollywoodlife.com, Sharma has been in touch with Netflix India for quite some time now. He is reportedly planning to launch a stand-up comedy show on the likes of Aditi Mittal and Vir Das on the streaming network giant. He is also, at the same time, in talks with Amazon and Hotstar.
