Kapil Sharma's show likely to return to Sony Entertainment Television in March — without Sunil Grover
Kapil Sharma, the popular comedian who has been battling several professional setbacks in succession since last year, is all set for his comeback.
After his extremely popular show, The Kapil Sharma Show, was suspended due to dismal ratings, his encounter with health issues and the absolute failure of his film Firangi at the box office, Kapil may soon bounce back. Sony Entertainment Television is reportedly re-launching his show, with Kapil already shooting the promo on Tuesday, as reported by NDTV.
Once the most popular comedian of the country, Kapil’s career trajectory saw a sharp downfall after accusations emerged of his unprofessional behaviour such as making A-list stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn wait for hours on his TV show set. His struggle with alcoholism and depression also contributed to his erratic behaviour, reaching a moment of reckoning when a mid-air fracas with his colleague Sunil Grover snowballed into a public spat, denting his image irreparably.
Now, Kapil is getting a second chance with his show being launched again, albeit still without Sunil Grover. Sony TV and Kapil recently had a meeting and discussed on the comeback of the show. With Kapil now fit and fine, he is raring to go and entertain his audience in his own inimitable style. The promo that is being shot today would be just an announcement and a full-fledged one would be shot after the creatives are finalised. The show is expected to launch by end of March, as reported by The Indian express.
The report also states that Sunil is not coming back. The remaining cast of The Kapil Sharma Show will be part of the series while there can be some new additions. The title of the show has also not been finalised. But Kapil and the makers are working hard to make this a bigger and better project.
